Spartacus: Blood and Sand

a show like this has been long over due. one of my fav shows its a pity pacific wasnt this good

I agree. I watched the first 4 episodes of The Pacific and then got into this. Haven't watched the rest of The Pacific since, just sub par compared to this.

all my wifes friends are becoming obssesed its going to be the next "twilight" at this rate...

hopefully the producers dont start marketing the second series towards women.

I have to say I really really enjoyed this. It is quite mindless though :p

Hoping for a second season!

Also would like more of the gladiator kind of series to come out (minus the Spartacus plot line).

Because there isn't enough topless men and winkies on display in this series? :p

Slowly catching up with this on Bravo and enjoying it. Although would all the Gladiators be so ridiculously ripped on an inevitably terrible diet? Makes me feel ickle :(

that last episode was epic. one of the best series out there.
It doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. just full on action, sex with a smidge of politics and love story. comedy blood.
Far better than the big American series.

OMG what a finale.

So what's the new series next year, some sort of precaule?

Prequel starts Jan 2011 (starts filming about now I think!)

Wiki said:
The plot will tell the story of Batiatus (John Hannah) who is not yet the head of his family or of the gladiator training school. Gannicus is the lead gladiator in the Ludus, but the House of Batiatus has not earned social respect or the right for its gladiators to fight in championship bouts. Gannicus struggles to turn around the House’s luck.

Season 2 is happening, but I guess wont be until January 2012 (!) but maybe with a bit of luck we'll get it at the more usual date of September 2011, just because the prequel is only 6 episodes and the guy that plays Spartacus is free of cancer now.
