Spec me a CCTV System

Can anyone recommend a simple 8"/10" tablet to run the Hikvision app? I wanted to mount the tablet on the kitchen wall so the wife and kids can see who is at the door and is always running at certain times of the day.

Can the Fire tablets run the app sideloaded? Not sure it has the official app on their store.

not sure, but they've moved away from the app store for the new versions for some reason: https://us.hikvision.com/en/products/software/hikvision-app-store
 
Need a two camera front and rear setup. I was looking at a Swann kit that appeared on hotukdeals but see people seem to rave about hikvision here.

I have no kit to start from and I'd like something that can notify me of activity on my phone.

Is there a bundle anyone can recommend?

Thought I would update, had this running a few months now and all good. No issues with it at all. Was plug and play basically and I think a good price for what I got. Just thought I would bump this incase anyone ever comes across it.

I am in the exact same situation. Saw the Swann on HotUKDeals, got tempted so did some research and found it wasn't very good.
 
Think I found what I'm looking for

Want a camera to go on a shelf, buttery powered with SD card slot rather than subscription service

Anyone heard of a Roelink ?

Looks ideal
Just bear in mind the file size limit of whatever email client you use
I got Gmail to work by altering some settings in the reolink software to keep the clips under the size limit :)
