Spec me a CCTV System

Is there not a difference between the chinese version and our uk version or did I misread that somewhere?

From what I have read on other forums it seems to be that the day of the week appears in chinese but this can be switched off. Everything else is in English.

Some have flashed the european firmware onto them but I don't believe that changed the day of the week setting.

no difference as far as i can tell except below

Manufactured Feb,2014. Comes with latest firmware v5.1.0
Please note that this camera is the china edition, this camera is no different from the European/USA version except that the day of the week displays in Chinese. This can be easily turned off in the camera settings. All other camera functions are the same.
The box contains chinese documentation, but the english can be downloaded from the below location

Just noticed Use-IP has dropped the price of their cameras since I ordered mine.:( My 2632F-I is nearly £30 cheaper now and AliExpress is £100 cheaper than they are. I might order some from AliExpress as a test. Might take a month but it will be a few weeks before I get the ground work ready anyhow.

Hi,
Could you post how you got the 2 camera's writing to freenas please. I am struggling to work it out as i have a old PC with a single TB disk, how should it be setup ? one ZFS volume and 2 NFS Shares ?

Thank you

My install isn't very neat, I've just plugged the Ethernet cable into the cable that hangs off the back of the camera (and wrapped the join in electrical tape for waterproofing, it's under my roof so shouldn't get wet anyway), run it behind my soffits and then drilled a hole through the wall to run the cables to my switch. The camera does come with a waterproof casing for the cable join but you need to be able to crimp on the RJ45 connector.

For the Windows software you can download it from http://www.hikvision.com/en/download_more.asp?id=1277

For Android and Apple you can get it from the relevant app store.

Is there a PSU that be used for those cameras? I've recently wired my house so access to network is sorted (and power socket next to it), but didn't get a PoE switch. :(

Also, how much scope for movement is there in the camera? I want to mount it on a vertical wall.

Almost half the price of UK  but delivery times seem very long. They all look like 4mm. The biggest seller in the UK http://www.use-ip.co.uk/hikvision/3mp-ip-cameras.htmlwhere Sirrel got his and i got my 2nd cam from are also out of stock of the 6mm and 12mm. The 6mm and 12mm seem hard to find anywhere in stock.

I will post images of the 4mm this weekend but i am very impressed being able to read number plates and street signs ..

He's referring to the above mate!

Here is the 6mm https://www.dropbox.com/s/4d6cmunxvfp7qwx/192.168.0.66_01_20140413160649887.jpg as you can see pin sharp but too narrow for me..

The 4mm is perfect for a wider view https://www.dropbox.com/s/aiw9t3ng1zukme0/192.168.0.65_01_20140413174354993.jpg

As for night time. I have a street lamp in front of the property and with the IR's on causes washout on the number plate's. i.e all whitened out. So i have left the camera's in daytime mode at night
