arek,

You should've done this mate:
[youtube search - Building a green pc]
Oh edit
I should probably remove the vid because of the 'competitor' selling green ITX pc equipment, as the community here is so desperate to buy it all ;D

Optima your pc is very green on in vid. However it wont even play diablo 3?

My green pc, because I am so good will play even BF3!

Get one of these,

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-003-EN

It'll help you to keep green.

I would have got a gtx 670 instead aswell seeing as the power consumption is pretty close to that 7850 while being significantly faster. Plus then you wouldn't have to overclock the graphics card.

Wouldn't mind some pics of the build though, this thread looks pretty bare.

Thanks thezakarum for good tip, I will get a wattage use meter. They tell you how much power your using exactly.

As for build pics I cannot post them here. Its against forum rules. I may make a youtube video summoning up my journeying of building good green lean power machine - The Green Dragon.

BTW anyone know if you can subscribe to firmware update by email or other means from gigabite, lg and crucial? Its a hustle to check on their sites for new firmware. I'd like to be notified by email automatically. thanks

I predict this thread will go on for year after year, after year.........

Everyone has the opportunity to do their socially responsible green bit. Even if its drinking organic beer or using components from environmentally friendly manufacturers such as Kingston.

Does anyone know how to OC my 7850 gfx card so that it stays as is and does not go back to defaults after each reset please? ta

How are those two sentences in the same post???????

MSI afterburner is what you need by the way for your power gobbling, earths resources chewing, shipped from the far east on a massively polluting boat, behemoth of a card. Set your overclock then click the thing that says 'apply overclock at startup'.

tHANKS Blue, but where to check 'apply overclock at startup' in MSI afterburner please? ta

thezakarum thanks for pointing out in afterburner, but this software only allows oc of corce clock to 975? Why so low?

Also if I check the 'apply oc at start up option', will afterburner load each time windows starts? Or will it be a registery tweak? Thanks

I would like to thank all the people who have significantly contributed to my green dragon 888 pc build. Thanks to support of good people such as Ethermaster, Blue160, thezakarum and cmndr_andi I have build a good eco pc. Those that I have not mentioned I apologize but I do very much appreciate your help.

Bearing in mind that this build is working but not complete. I still got to put in amongst other things filters, custom quite fans to make it even better. Other improvement suggestions are welcome.

Mine's also greener than Arek's because I bought some of the components second hand :D

I got my case and screws used to name few. I feel proud of my self to be so good to make make my green dragon 888 fly and kick ass.

Also my stock cpu temps are in mid 30's. Thats how good my cooling is.

Regarding pics, I am not sure if its allowed to post here. It might be against forum rules to post build pics here.

If you want to discuss moderating decisions do so by emailing a moderator. Thank you.

Anyway, could someone advise me please whether there be significant sound improvement if I replace on board sound card of my z77 ud3h motherboard with one of the recommended sound cards such as:

Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card with built in Headphone Amp - OEM
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-012-AS
?

I am using 5.1 creative speakers mid range and sometimes play using head phones.

My pc is used for gaming and movie & song play.

Pictures will come soon. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks

Here is my green dragon 888. Please note ingenious placement of cable modem on top of 200m exhaust fan. Cools it nicely.
