Got my new toy today.

Got a lamp attachment diffuser thingy and a free red filter. Looks cool, just need it to get darker for a proper test. :cool:

Some great torches out there, im in need of a new one, which would you guys suggest? Also, I take it you all have chargers as the batteries must go down pretty quick?

The latest leds are extremely efficient and give long run times, so rechargeable batteries are not essential, but will save money and the environment in the long run.

I've got the Fenix P1D.

Can't fault it. Its unbeleivably small, very bright and lasts ages. Plus the best feature is it runs on a single AA, so recharging and getting decent batteries isn't a problem, unlike all these torches running on CR123's which are a pain in the backside.

I need a torch for camping, it needs to be very bright but also quiet small I was looking at the INOVA BOLT - 2.0 WATT Any ideas what i should get? £25 or less is my budget.

I would recommend Fenix, but I'm probably biased as I have two L1s, one L2 and a T1 all with Crees (or other high output LEDS - I can't remember exactly).

As for battery choice, I prefer AAs because they're easy to get anywhere in the world. For camping though, you would have spares anyway, so lithiums might better as they have a longer life, so you would need fewer spares.

I would not recommend AAA/AA Maglites - the twist on/off switch doesn't seem to last too long.

i thought it would be some ebay gimmik as usual but i thought hey what the hell ill give it ago.

all i can say is wow its amazing for the price. will suffice for any need of a torch.

its about 8" long an the lens end is about 1.5"-2" in diameter

I have had many Fenix torches (7+) and each of them were from FenixTorch.co.uk - every time I have had superb service. I recently got a Dereelight CL1H V4 with the Cree WC Q5 3SD pill and it is spot on, the build quality is (imho) on par with Surefire torches.

Sorry for bumping this but I'm looking for a new torch for Christmas.

Has anyone got a Fenix LD20 and if so, what is it like?

Tescos have a superb 2xAA LED torch for a tenner. Of similar quality to the fenix, although it only has a simple on/off.

For the money its great!
