Spec me an LED Torch

If you could stretch to a bit more I would recommend the Zebralight SC5 http://www.flashaholics.co.uk/products/zebralight-sc5.html

I have the SC5w and its just easier that torches are smaller and run of AA batteries that are easily available almost anywhere. I have owned quite a few larger expensive torches and sold them all because they are not much use if they are big, heavy and run on batteries that you always need to charge - sure you need to charge AAs but its better knowing they are in remotes and all sorts of other stuff around the house

The SC5 also has a great user interface even if its a bit confusing at first

Currently out of stock...

Any thoughts on "FENIX LD22 2015", it's a 2xAA light, which I will probably find better in the hand?

or a "ThruNite® Archer 2A V3 CREE XP-L V6 500 Lumens" also a 2x AA

Went for a Fenix PD35 Tac in the end, with Panasonic 3.7V 3400mAh and a XTAR VC2 charger. Just got the cells on charge before testing it out.

Trying to cheer myself up as my kids have lost my 4Sevens Quark AA Titanium with custom trits installed - grrrrr

Looking for a Torch for dog walking. Budget of upto £50, any suggestions?

Currently using a LE Adjustable Focus LED £7 rainforest one, and looking to upgrade this.

Nitecore ea41, good throw with a nice bit of flood.

Runs of 4 AA batteries, 1000lm otf.

What would make a good replacement for an Ultrafire WF-501B (supposedly 1000 lumens)?

Looking for something:
- No bigger than 180mm (L) x 40mm (dia)
- Runs off commonly available rechargables (18650, perhaps)
- Insane output on highest power
- Several hours battery life on low, with enough output to light up a small room... say, 10 lumens min?

Ideally with a tail switch and micro USB recharging too, but not essential.
I'd love something like a Nitecore TM26, but that's a bit too bulky!

I recently bought a Chinese knock-off Cree xml-t6 torch.
Actually very happy with it as a small torch with incredible power, frankly. A friend saw it and decided to buy one with 6 leds in it, and it takes 4 18650's instead of one (of course) and it is easily 4 times more powerful than mine.

However. I am looking at a 12 led torch for mega flood at the local dog park in the dark nights, but the torches still only take 4 batteries...
My question is, does this likely mean the output of the leds isn't as strong and as such there is a max amount of led's to batteries before you see a drop-off in power.
Or do the batteries kick out more to compensate and the battery life is radically reduced (which doesn't bother me)

Thanks.

Not all batteries can output the same wattage or have the same capacity. I guess it means you better get some really nice batteries to have a chance it'll work ok, dont use multiple unprotected batteries like I did. Its not a good idea in an unregulated circuit afaik
Sometimes more is less, get a quality torch instead is likely the best choice. I have a 1 LED torch and it gives out 900 lumen which is enough, takes one battery but it runs out fairly fast on the highest setting. Give us a link to your torch

Looks ok, I tried a few of these chinese toches. Rough life span is about a year or so, after that something breaks usually but still its fine as a cheap job
1800Lm - expect about 300 or so I'd guess.

Somebody else posted this but it seemed a really good deal for all parts included. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00K14VC7U/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Three 5000 lumen LED lights
Comparing to listed modes on a Fenix all 3 LED together is about 400lm which for 13 quid all in is great? not fallen apart yet though Ive not used it roughly, the batteries are about half the capacity listed but arent terrible
