Spec me an LED Torch

looking for something similar size or smaller to a 3d maglight with a silly high output and tight beam for a decent distance spot,

any suggestions?

Do torches make for good self defence? Obviously in this country you aren't allowed anything in the way of weapons, but a decent and blinding torch might be a good idea to have in the house for worse case scenarios.

If so, any recommendations? Not looking to spend too much.

My personal recommendations for cheap/decent lights:

Headlamp/Right angle light - Skilhunt H03 neutral white (From Gearbest)
Regular flashlight with rear clicky - BLF A6 (From Banggood)

Awesome 18650 lights :)

Even a 100 lumen torch will temporarily blind a would-be attacker. But considering 900+ lumen torches can be bought cheap anyway, may as well just stash one of those on your person.

They do come in handy from time to time for multiple purposes.

Some even come with lens "hoods" that are quite sharp, so if you did need to swipe away to safety, then I suppose there is that option?

Just a bit of feedback from my recent purchase from Lightmalls.
I ordered a pair of batteries and a cheapish torch from them a few weeks ago. They arrived but the torch was faulty. There was an issue with the circuit so the torch kept going off when tapped. The front bezel ring was also suffering from a faulty thread and would not tighten, this was also the lens retaining ring so not cosmetic.

I emailed them and they were insistent that I return the torch at my expense for them to perform a repair. I requested several times that they cover the cost of return but they refused. Given I don't have the benefit of shipping bulk via a container I wasn't prepared to pay more than the cost of the order to return something for them to repair.
As much as I hated doing it I got a full refund via Paypal.

I know I chose to buy from China, but it was a fairly cheap order which if I lost out on wouldn't have been the end of the world. I just wanted to share this with people, particularly as there are some fairly expensive orders being discussed here. I'm certainly not using them again.

Guys, can you help

My yard which i rent is on a farm and the gates are locked at night which means if the alarm goes off and i am called (its monitored) I have a bit of a trek to the unit in a pitch black farm.

I need a torch that needs to have a battery built in, that i can leave on charge in the back of my car all the time?

I have a couple of torches at present that after a month or so are flat in a month or so with enloops, hence why i need to be able to attach it to the boot and forget it

thanks

Why? You got a refund. What have you got to lose with a future purchase?

That's why I use PayPal for all Chinese transactions - anything goes wrong, getting a refund is easy.

Anyone picked up a Nitecore Tube or a Nitecore Tip? I have had the tube for months now and honestly its my go to light for general activities due to its tiny size. Its only 45lumens but for the size and being so cheap (£7) I love it!

I just ordered the Tip (£20) which is a much brighter aluminium version, cant wait to get hold of it.

Really love the small formfactor compared to my 18650 lights, sometimes they are also just too bright for some tasks. Will keep my XML-T6's for cycling in the dark but these little guys are just perfect for general usage imo.

Yup - I have two Nitecore Tubes. Have them hung up by the back door for when I'm checking or putting away the rabbits etc. Great little lights. Looking forward to taking them camping - they'll be great to hang up in the kids bedrooms to give them a little light to sleep by.
