It's £35 - it wont be anything more complicated that three leads coming off the driver (i.e parallel).
Well after using my trusty MR Bulk Lionheart for many years that I got from CPF Forums I've decided its time to upgrade.
My budget is up to £40 and I'd like to run it using 18650's so is Amigafan's P-Rocket XM-L the one to buy at the moment or are we looking at a new batch of led's on the horizon?
My Lionheart has lasted me years so I don't mind waiting some more.
Just an idea but could I mod my Lionheart?
You've probably not heard of it but it was a major light in its day and were exchanging hands for quite a lot of cash.
That does look good, I would however worry a bit about what appears to be a strike bezel on it...
In our PC loving health and safety society it could very well be construed to be a weapon.
Actually legally construed as![]()
the government legally defines carrying a flashlight with a strike bezel to be a device intended for self-defence, akin to a knife, kubotan or baseball bat.
I don't believe there are classifications for weapons specifically for self defence - there are just 'offensive weapons'....
If this is classed as one then I'd be a bit hesitant to carry it about unless specifically on say a camping trip etc... even then something without the strike bezel might be better in the UK.
Guys, been looking for one as a bike light, at the moment, I have a B&Q 120 lu cree jobbie (I suspect it is more like 80-90 in reality though) which is not bad esp for £15 and the batteries have lasted ages
I have been looking at this which is just a random no brand cree torch http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290584181920&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
But it won't be 2.69a per emitter, it will be 2.69/3 = 1.23a per emitter. As XM-Ls are remarkably linear in output/current up to about 2.5a then the lumens output will probably only equal a single emitter being driven @ 2.8a.
