Spec me some good sci fi films.

[The Dread Pirate]

BSG : Razor

BSG : The Plan

and most of those already mentioned except Serenity that was pure ****, don't get me wrong firefly was an Ok series not brilliant or complete **** but Ok... then Serenity came along and destroyed it IMHO.

[bledd]

Dark City
Gattaca
Twelve Monkeys

These are films that aren't really science fiction, but they're similar

[Grimley]

Another one:

Planet of the Apes (the one from the 60's)

[The Dread Pirate]

Gattaca

That is science Fiction. Or am I the only non-biologically engineered human on the planet?

[Freakbro]

This has been mentioned once in this thread, but its such a good SF film its worth a mention again

The Man from Earth

In the true vein of SF - pure story telling at its best, not a single special effect.

If you've not seen it, seek it out

[Lunatic Dreyfus]

Star Wars? Seems to have been missed!

Forbidden Planet. Okay, it's rather retro, but I love it.

War of the Worlds. Another retro job. Though I suppose you could watch the Spielberg version instead...

Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The last few minutes are full of everything I despise about Spielberg films, but everything else is superb.

Battlefield Earth. It has to be seen. You can then really appreciate good sci-fi afterwards.

That's in my collection, but still on my 'to watch' list.
