Spec me something slightly interesting for ~£1.5k

There are many interesting cars in your budget, but they will mostly be old and well used, and I'm guessing one of your requirements is going to be low maintenance costs?

306 gti-6 or rallye rules all in this thread. Great cars. Any supra is going to be very tired and probably need work.

Rules all? How? It's not even the best hot hatch for the money since the 172 got in the similar price bracket, and even then the xsara vts was better value and I hear handles even better.

Also not buying the age vote when the gti6 is what, 14 years old. Some of the stuff in this thread is older but I just don't think the gti is modern enough to actually warrant choosing one over better speced, faster, more interesting cars on age basis alone. And that's not to mention that something like the vr4 is of a similar age but has performance to blow a gti6 into tbe middle of next month.

As a cheap hot hatch you can do so much worse, but the most interesting car for 1500? Not even close.

I am not denying that it is not a good hot hatch, just questioning the use of the term "Rules all" in a thread where it is competing with cars from higher classes (regardless of their older ages) is a bit lol, Especially when its not even the best hot hatch in the price point!

Doesn't the VR4 have 113ps over the GTi-6?

And an extra ~330kg as well. They are totally different cars though, not really comparable.

Care you find a few examples of an Integra for 1.5k? I was quite surprised they had fallen this low, so had a look on eBay, PH Classified and Autotrader. There is one car on PH that sounds genuine. though it was in Scotland. There is also a single Integra that meets the budget on Autotrader and it's a Type R for £1500. Assuming the dealer is legitimate, a Type R for that money will be a rolling scrap heap. Therefore I have to conclude it's not actually "easy" to find any remotely decent Integra for £1.5k.

£1.5k Integra Si's do come up, not that often but that's more due to the rarity of the car than the value, you have to remember that without its Type-R trim an Integra is basically in the same league as a Civic coupé of the same era and they go for ~£500.

I never said the GTi-6 and the VR-4 were comparable, the VR-4 is better in pretty much every way imaginable (expect mpg lol) but somebody suggested the GTi-6 to a guy looking at VR-4's so it was worth pointing out the performance gap.

They don't though; the Integra Si is equivalent to the Civic VTi, and even quite tatty examples tend to fetch very good money, especially the coupe.
