SPECTRE Bond24 discussion [Please use spoiler tags when discussing the plot]

Thought this was quite poor, I was getting bored by 45min in and nothing really to redeam it. Looked at my watch as often as I did in the last hunger games.

Often the problem when you try to make a technical masterpiece with association to a big name franchise.

This outing was alright, better than Skyfall but still lacking. A good portion of the people in the cinema couldn't wait to leave. I think it's time for a new Bond, he looks tired and bored imo. As for the opening song, quite literally the worst ever.

I'm not a massive fan of Sam Mendes as a director of Bond either.

Besides, QoS is garbage.

Funny that I enjoyed it, but it's all of opinion isn't it :)

The love story side of it is the only downside for me, but other than that I thought it was fantastic

Craig films in order is now:

1. Casino Royale
2. Skyfall
3. Spectre
4. QoS

Going to be gutted when Craig gives it up, he just plays the part so well.

Saw it last night and came out quite disappointed. Felt too broken up location wise and rushed through parts.

Whether or not you enjoy a film and whether it is objectely a good film are not the same thing, though I'd posit that a well made film is easier to enjoy.

QoS has a terrible plot. That is the main problem with it. You might enjoy the action or the eye candy or whatever, but that doesn't mean it's not a badly made film.

Films are subjectively good - but my opinion is objectively correct? :p

Films can be subjectively enjoyed and liked. It's much more objective whether a film is well written, acted, directed, made, etc.

The Godfather is tremendously well made. It's also about as interesting as watching paint dry.

What? WHAT? How dare..........oh, wait. You're 100% correct. :)

Anyone else think the plot was just utterly pants? You could practically sum up the whole story in a couple of sentences. Pretty disappointed with this one.

.

Agreed, I was rather bored throughout, only a few good action sequences kept me awake I think.

I enjoyed it a lot more than skyfall but it suffered from some of the problems the last film did.

Also all I can say as far as the story went...Captain America Spectre Soldier..

Well, I've had a lot of rush catching up to do last night and today.

Casino Royale - done.
Quantum - done.
Skyfall - done.

Spectre - in a couple of hours :)

Just saw it. Not bad but not great either.

Bad:
Waltz underutilised
Some odd plot moments
Sam Smith was a woeful choice to sing the title track
Daniel cauliflower ears Craig still sucks at being Bond. He is starting to look quite old and haggard now as well.

Good:
Opening sequence graphics were awesome
Blonde chick was very good. Showed Craig up acting wise
Action sequences were very well done
Newman's score was pretty good

Just came back from seeing it.

Decent, predictable, enjoyable enough, awesome new Aston.

Having gone from Casino Royale to Spectre back to back in 2 days, I saw Craig go from younger and looking utterly amazing and believable to older and looking frankly a bit past it. Time for a fresh new Bond.

This movie is more of a return imo to classic Bond,
Blofeld, massive secret lair for his evil global operations, white cats, Moneypenny, and a Jaws like character, ie, the train fight.
and Craig does play the part very well. But overall, Spectre is a bit underwhelming.
