Are you sure?

Livingston - Demoted to the third division.

Dundee - 25 point deduction.

Well, considering the SFA have been extremely lenient with Rangers, you could be right.

SPL won't allow one of the Old Firm to go down they're too important to Sky, like it or not they need each other as does the league. IIRC Dundee's first penalty was 10 points or so and Livi breached the insolvency rules hence the demotion.

Anyway, 4-0 Rangers vs Dundee Utd with three penalties (one miss) and three red cards for Utd. From the sounds of it Willie Callum got the three card decisions correct? ;)

Could be the board dont want to lose their position on the board. Could be anything. no point in guessing till they come out and say what it is.

STV saying new £25m investment offer is from David King not from a share issue as first thought now that his own tax case has been sorted. Surprised they don't just pull the money together and get the takeover sorted.

Willie Collum at the centre of controversy yet again. How much of a helping hand do Rangers need to win this league?

Also in the news, parcel bombs sent to Neil Lennon and Paul McBride. Do followers of Rangers know no shame? Attempting to kill the Celtic manager and a QC who has highlighted bias against Celtic in the SFA.

Good result for Rangers tonight in light of takeover problems. I hope whoever has been sending these devices is caught and punished by the law.

Cannot believe it's emerged tonight that someone has attempted to kill Neil Lennon with an improvised explosive device. I'd be happy for Celtic to cancel all matches until this lunatic is caught. Happy for Killie to get the 3 points for tomorrow, Rangers for Sunday. Some things are more important than football.

Hopefully this time the SPL and Scottish government will do something about sectarianism in our game rather than "hold a summit" then try and sweep it under the carpet once the media have had their headlines. Doubt anything will change a month or two after the season finishes though. Thankfully most Rangers fans are condemning the behaviour of these idiots.

I see from other reports that senior police officials are now "worried" about holding the Old Firm game on Easter Sunday. I think just about everyone questioned that decision when it was announced so why not hold it at a 6pm game?

More lolreligion to be honest.

Religion is only been used as an excuse- most of the extreme supporters wouldn't even know the different between the two religions. One would really have to wonder if there is a future for these two clubs as all they seem to do is breed hatred.

And sadly that is all a lot of people will see when they look at the Old Firm so they can kiss goodbye any chance of joining the English leagues while this stuff still goes on.

And that vile sectarian bigotry is perpetuated from generation to generation , you just have to read some of the posts in here to confirm that.

As for either of them entering the EPL or even a British League Cup , forget it , you aren't wanted or needed.

.

Having now seen the game all red cards were merited. However with the benefit of SLOW MOTION replays I would say the second penalty wasnt one but at normal speed I can see how the ref awarded it as it was so close to the box its hard to tell without the benefit of SLOW MOTION replays.

Got to agree, 2 definate penalties and the third was right on the edge. Also 2 definate red cards, not too sure about the third one ( push on Doof ) but by that time the game was well over for United.

As for Collum "helping" Rangers, is he also helping Celtic in the cup ? lol Didn't look like a penalty to me in the semi final.

theres no evidence that rangers fans are involved in this , anyway , nutters follow both clubs, celtic supporters lecturing other clubs on shame, the irony;)

First penalty incident. Rangers player runs across Dundee Utd defender as he is clearing the ball. No foul, no penalty, no red card.

Second penalty incident. Never a penalty but was last man. Red card decision correct.

Third penalty incident. Minimal contact and Diouf goes down as if felled by a sniper in the stands. Never a last man decision either. No penalty, no red card, yellow for Diouf for simulation.

If Walter Smith or McCoist where to recieve death threats or bombs in the post right after and old firm game, which group would you think more likely of having committed the act? Bombs posted in Kilwinning and when you consider how many loyalist terrorists from Northern Ireland have settled in Ayrshire it doesn't take Einstein to work out which particular group of fans are behind this (or does Lennon having no trouble whatsoever before joining Celtic not come into it?).

Deny, deflect, deny. Eh Fletch?

Has the Rangers manager been sent bombs?

I don't think it is right to portray this as an "Old Firm" problem, I think sweeping anti-Irish and ant-Catholic bigotry under the rug with that brush has allowed extremists to get to this stage.

In my life of following Celtic, I haven't been raised to hate anyone so I'll obviously have a problem if someone that thinks they know better comes along and tries to tell me I do.

Not that I can think of for bombs though plenty of incidents of other stuff being sent to the representatives or their players.

It's all part of the sectarianism of the Old Firm rooted with the Irish problems at its heart though the police are saying packages seem to have been sent from within Scotland.

Both clubs have their share of idiots who will use it as an excuse to cause trouble. Sadly incidents like this will tarnish all supporters of these clubs to some extent.

I just hope that this latest incident will embarrass the authorities and clubs involved to stop ignoring the problem once the media furore dies down, especially now that UEFA are taking a keen interest in the "sectarian/political" problems in Scottish football.

Anyway, currently 4-0 to Celtic against a woeful Killie setting up the Old Firm derby on Sunday. :)

I'm sorry to have to keep re-iterating the same point but you can't call Celtic sectarian unless you are going to provide an example to argue? I don't like discussing this on this forum but you effectively keep repeating your opinion about Celtic which I don't know where you get it from but I believe it to be ill-informed. If I just let it go, it re-inforces that prejudice with others from England or further afield looking in this thread.

I don't agree Celtic are sectarian. Do we have other problems? Maybe but religious bigotry and hatred isn't one.

Rangers have a significant problem.

Only if people like you and the press continue to peddle the "Old Firm" label when it is Rangers fans sending bombs, threatening Catholics and singing songs of hate en-masse.

I don't think it is a laughing matter either.

Agree with you. Scotland has a significant problem with anti-Catholic bigotry and anti-Irish racism. If anything good can come of these recent events it's that maybe the powers that be will start to take real steps to tackle it. I love Scotland, it's a wonderful country at its best, but we have a dirty little secret and it's time that we stopped hiding from it.

Back to the football, was a good win for Celtic tonight. Looks like whoever wins the match on Sunday will be huge favourites for the title. I still think Rangers are favourites.
