Splatoon - Wii U

Picked mine up from Tesco at lunch, I'll be having a go on this tonight when I get home from work. Plans to watch movies this evening are now on ice.

Any organised OCUK games happening? How do we go about setting them up?

As far as i can see you can only join friends that are currently in game, i don't think you can create games or matches.

I spent a couple of hours playing online this afternoon, managed to get to level 5 then played some of the single player campaign.
Enjoying it so far, there's already some really good players online, i'm still getting used to the motion controls.:o
 
The ink/turfing mechanic is one of the best ideas in recent commercial game design and it's implemented so well. Awesome game!.

So, which weapons are OP?. I had some fun with the Blaster and Splattershot Pro last night :D

Got 2x 'Ink Saver (Main)' ability on a pair of shoes (Orange Arrows). I don't think that's beneficial in terms of builds but I didn't realize you could get 2 of the same on a piece of gear.
 
Anybody having connection problems? Got this for my son and he can't seem to stay connected to the MP for more than 2 minutes.
 
All the weapon types are quite fun to use so far... I will need to spend more time playing before picking favourites :)

I'm level 13 and was able to purchase gear with 2 secondary ability slots today (seems the shop refreshes each day).
 
There are 5 multiplayer maps atm but only 2 are available at once on a 4 hour rotation (i.e. they change every 4 hours)

New maps are to be added "every few weeks" so more should be available before long.
 
Fun game, picked it up yesterday but only had a chance to sit down and have a go at it this morning. Only level 4 thus far but I can see this game taking me away from the Witcher 3 for spells ! Looks to be plenty of customisation, and I like hanging in the plaza already :)
 
It's quite a fun game, but the longevity is a bit up for debate. They need to release content quite frequently as the game seems a little half complete.

Also in a weird way, it reminds me of sunset overdrive
