***SPOILERS*** Football 11th-13th Dec '10

Evra had an awesome game tonight, kept Arsenal quiet and did a great job carrying the ball out of defence, definitely backed up all his chat from last week.

Anderson was probably my MOTM though I see Sky gave it to Ferdinand which I won't argue with. :)

lol, well, the same shockingly poor performance as midweek against a marginally better team.

THe only embarassing thing was, these were the two top teams in the EPL at the moment, and both teams were horrible, truly awful. From Rooney "can't score from open play, and now not penalties either" to Song "I could murder someone and not get a red Card", everyone was VERY poor.

Nasri, as I've said, he seems unwilling to really pass others into good chances, he's always looking for the easy pass to Fabregas then bombs it into the box. Or he runs with it across the pitch for some reason not passing, Nasri has been pretty awful all season OUTSIDE the box. Compared to last season he was FAR more involved in build up and defensive cover, at the moment he may aswell not be on the pitch if we can't get the ball into the box.

I don't think honestly a single Arsenal player came even close to playing like they should be at the club tonight. Wilshire, the more he plays as a DM the worse he's getting, he's still better than Song at it but like Denilson who once apon a time was an attacking midfield player who could actually pass, when you practice and play another role the other side of your game suffers, quite badly it seems.

Seriously, how the hell did Song not get a yellow card in the first half, and how many times did he slide in from 4-5 metres away and come no where near the ball, once completely taking out Park, and once knocking Rafael about who DIDN'T make a meal of it :o

Did we have a genuine shot on goal, something that actually troubled the keeper, against honestly the worst Utd side I've seen in over a decade.

Woeful, and the worst thing, Wenger every game looks angry and, disbelieving, why, you send out a awful team with no cohesion or real system, with the same players, every game, and they continue to play badly, why is this so shocking to him exactly?

The only thing I could really wonder after that game is, how the heck did we go into that game joint top, again I'll say, last year, or 6 years ago when we last had a good team, playing the way we have this season we'd be lucky to be in a Europa league spot.

Even back when we would get whooped 6-1, we ruddy scored, and looked like we could score.

Not sure how you could say that? It was one of United's best performances this season, though it was nerve-wracking to watch Arsenal never caused any real problems despite the amount of possession we let them have and we should have scored at least one on the counter.

How are so many people saying this, Utd failed to thrash a truly miserable Arsenal side that couldn't string two passes together. The first half especially, there were points where both teams would go 5 minutes without being able to keep the ball for more than 2 passes.

It was a shocking performance from both teams, lack of ARsenal chances does not in any way equate to a solid Utd performance, Arsenal were WOEFUL, Utd were slightly less rubbish.

From Gary in Newcastle, via text: "Re 1937. With the Chilean miners now in Manchester perhaps they can pop across town to teach a certain South American how to survive stuck in one place for a long time."

:D

thats brilliant

Thought most of Utd had a good game, Rafael was excellent, Nani was pretty awful and Rooney was good.....upto the penalty at least

More tactical naivety from Wenger against Man Utd. He knows exactly what formation they will play, yet doesn't change his to counter. That's the definition of insanity.

With Nasri on fire at the moment why play him out wide against one of the best left backs in the world? Not to mention Park running his nackers off to double up on him when he can. Rosicky should have been played out wide and Nasri given the free role.

Bringing a clearly injured Fabregas on to replace Wilshere (I realise he took a knock, but Fabregas couldn't string a pass) was ridiculous too. Arsenal were actually having a decent spell before the double substitution.

The overall urgency and passion was the most alarming thing though. 88 mins on the clock, 1-0 down at OT and it takes Nasri an absolute age to take a throw in.

A big bonus for Arsenal however was Scezney's performance. A great 1 on 1 save against Anderson and another palming away Rooney's chip. He didn't look flustered by the occasion at all.

Credit to Man Utd though, I thought they set up brilliantly. Rooney lead the line fantastically (aside from the penalty miss - which was justice by the way as that was never a pen) and won so much in the air against the taller Koscielny. Vidic and Ferdinand never looked troubled and Anderson was superb in the middle.

Fair result in the end.

I thought this 2 mins into the match, what on earth was Wenger doing? Nasri was 100 times better when he came off the wing and started getting the ball. It amazes me how utterly tactically incompetent Wenger can be at times.

I actually agree with DM Arsenal were there for the taking and United failed to take up the opportunity

I wouldn't say any of our attacking players were that good, Rooney was pretty average, Nani was blooming frustrating, Park was ok, Anderson if you can class him as an attacking player was probably the best

For me MOTM has to go to Rio followed by Rafael and then Evra

That scwery guy deserves some game time at arsenal. He's still raw but put in a decent performance.

Any reason why he was playing? Has Fabianski been making mistakes again in recent games?

The goal keeping situation is probably the biggest reason why Arsenal wont win anything major, you just never know which keeper is going to play from one week to another.

I know, it was pure idiocy.

Another thing that bugs me with Arsenal. When Rooney missed that penalty, it should have sparked them to attack and at least up the urgency.

That's the difference between them and Man Utd - roles reversed and I would bet my house on Man Utd getting an equaliser. That's why this Arsenal team will never win a title - they don't have that "spark" that championship winning teams require.

Fabianski had hip pain. I think we have it narrowed down to Woznejechcasdasd and Fabianski, then depending on how he does at Hull, Vito Mannone. I can see Fabianski moving on if Woznejecheahca becomes No1 since they would both be fighting for the Polish starting position.
