***SPOILERS*** Football 7 May - 10 May 2011

That tackle on Bale really looks nasty. How many times have we seen players out for months recovering... Really hope he's ok.

Luckily it didn't look/seem like a break, and if your ankle goes over, you want it to go over in that direction the other way is much worse, can see it being ligament damage though.

Redknapp has done a good job at Spurs but they seem as inconsistent as ever recently, a few changes would sort them out but that might now prove problematic if European football eludes them entirely.

Providing we beat Spurs, even if Spurs beat City, we can afford a draw in 1 of our other 2 remaining games and still finish above them. And if Spurs lose to City, we can afford to draw with Spurs and 1 of our remaining games too :)

......I think.

The Mourinho chants were pretty crap tbh.

Spurs just looked clueless again, resorting back to pumping the ball up to Crouch at every opportunity, the bloke who doesn't jump for headers and when he does he fouls the defender.

Clueless.

Dont get what Spurs fans expect Maureen to do there?
The owner wants to cut the bills a bit, then they have lost out on CL cash too next season.
The owner hadn't spent big when they were in the CL, what now when they are out of it?
Realisticly i expect a quiet summer for Spurs, selling Bale for stupid cash and getting new body's in could be a good piece of business.
Look at Harry's interviews regarding teansfers all the time, its always "As i said, we just need three more .. three more, and maybe we can go somewhere" he's basically begging the powers that be to release cash, but i cant see him getting it.

Redknapp was reminiscent of maclaren with his umbrella. Our CL hopes were slipping away and he sat there doing nothing.

That is what he did last week.

And the week before.

Droopy is tactically oblivious and he clearly can't motivate the team anymore.

What is left?

Being somewhat neutral towards your team (and thus not bias .. i hope), it appears to me that Harry is just biding time before the England job comes calling.

It will say "just three more" on Redknapps gravestone, he wants more players, thats his thing.

He bought the truly average(at his best) Pienaar on a higher wage than moneybags Chelsea would even consider offering him.

How much is a champs league run as far as they got worth, just under 20mil, they only won 5 of their 11 or 12 games was it, which cuts down the amount of cash. VDV cost 8mil and is on what I would think is at least 5mil wages a year, Pienaar was 3mil, on 3-4mil wages a year, Sandro on likely 2.5mil a year, Gallas is in 3-4mil a year.

Why do people think CL = unlimited pot of money and that wages have no effect on spending at all.

Spurs being in the CL isn't nearly as important as Spurs having a small stadium for a "CL" club. If they'd bought 3 more players for this season, they'd have cost 30mil(at least) and cost the club a further 15mil a year in wages(for the guys Redknapp wanted). Next season, out of the CL, Spurs would be looking at a 30-40million loss. LEvy's doing it right, Redknapps a deluded idiot, buy in form players every transfer window and have no actual tactics only gets you so far.

Spurs are EXACTLY where they were 4-5 years ago, after heavy investment, pushing for 4th but not really quite good enough, except they are doing that making what appears to be a loss.

Levy would be mental to sacrifice Spurs financial stability as one of the few well run clubs in the league to satisfy Redknapps love of deals.

Yes. He is. Which is why we need to kick him out. This season has been about being respectable. "can't compete with man city and Liverpool" as long as spurs were mediocre his England job was safe.

What is really scary is that he has no idea about tactics. He relie on man motivation. England Germany in the wOrld cup is the result of that approach.

For a change, i find it hard to argue with that.

Spot on

We will take Wenger. We already have the squad. Wenger not doing anything wouldn't be a huge bonus.

Redknapp has only recently cited the need to bring in players now that it's become painfully obvious that our forward options are pitiful. I think you'll find that his comments to the media previously were either that they weren't looking to bring anyone in, or they'd consider opportunities that arise but weren't pursuing any particular positions.

I've never been a fan of Redknapp, but I don't think the opinion that many have of him is fair.

Try harder!

You too !!

That is true.

Wenger is master at making players better than they already are. He would sort something.

Meh, as many players get worse under Wenger as better, we VERY rarely take a player of any age whose rubbish or good, whatever and 2-3 years later see them dramatically improved.

I do which this fallacy of youth training and getting the best out of players would die. Clichy, RVP, Cesc, Vermaelen, Song, Ramsey, Arshavin, Nasri, all of these are guys who came in at pretty much their current levels(however good that level happens to be). None have improved dramatically, Rosicky, Denilson, Diaby, Eboue, Sagna, Eduardo, Vela, Chamakh and loads more who have left, have all gotten worse under Wenger.

Henry and Vieira are the only guys to come in with a bad reputation and come good really, Henry was seen as a bit of a mediocre winger in Italy, that was after Wenger changed him from a prolific striker to a average winger in Monaco to start with, he merely put him back in his best role.

Wenger to spurs, motivation, no, winning mentality, no, solid sorted defence, not a chance in hell, spending a huge huge sum on wages on young players with a massive squad, will bankrupt the club. Having a large squad and refusing to play them, Redknapp's already great at that.

Wenger in his first what 6-7 years, epic manager, Wenger since then, almost a completely different person.

To be fair, I'd love to see the current Wenger at Spurs :p

What a day, Wigan meh Villa meh, that came summed up the EPL bunch of players on mega money not interested one bit
