***SPOILERS*** Football 7 May - 10 May 2011

What a day, Wigan meh Villa meh, that came summed up the EPL bunch of players on mega money not interested one bit

skippi90

Why support spurs, they are ****

Forever Gomez, amazing save then idiotic skill

Could be worse. I could have been born in Wigan and therefore forced to support them.

Redknapp has only recently cited the need to bring in players now that it's become painfully obvious that our forward options are pitiful. I think you'll find that his comments to the media previously were either that they weren't looking to bring anyone in, or they'd consider opportunities that arise but weren't pursuing any particular positions.

I've never been a fan of Redknapp, but I don't think the opinion that many have of him is fair.

What exactly is "recent" because the Jan transfer window opened over 5 months ago, the window in which he tried to buy Beckham, and who else, thats right, every other striker in Europe at ridiculous prices.

What about summer, or was it last summer, when he tried to buy Rio....... he has no sense and constantly brings in deals purely because they are available, Pienaar, shockingly poor deal, wage, price of transfer, crapness of player, the fact that Niko is 10 times the player Pienaar is, etc, etc.

Try harder!

You too !!

Meh, as many players get worse under Wenger as better, we VERY rarely take a player of any age whose rubbish or good, whatever and 2-3 years later see them dramatically improved.

I do which this fallacy of youth training and getting the best out of players would die. Clichy, RVP, Cesc, Vermaelen, Song, Ramsey, Arshavin, Nasri, all of these are guys who came in at pretty much their current levels(however good that level happens to be). None have improved dramatically, Rosicky, Denilson, Diaby, Eboue, Sagna, Eduardo, Vela, Chamakh and loads more who have left, have all gotten worse under Wenger.

Henry and Vieira are the only guys to come in with a bad reputation and come good really, Henry was seen as a bit of a mediocre winger in Italy, that was after Wenger changed him from a prolific striker to a average winger in Monaco to start with, he merely put him back in his best role.

Wenger to spurs, motivation, no, winning mentality, no, solid sorted defence, not a chance in hell, spending a huge huge sum on wages on young players with a massive squad, will bankrupt the club. Having a large squad and refusing to play them, Redknapp's already great at that.

Wenger in his first what 6-7 years, epic manager, Wenger since then, almost a completely different person.

To be fair, I'd love to see the current Wenger at Spurs :p

My view of Wenger is that any team with Eboue, Denilson, Song, Arshavin, Scillaci, Djorou et al and that STILL makes it to the champions league is a team that is managed extremely well.

Wenger has a dross squad and yet time and time again Arsenal are in the CL.

I would like to see what Wenger could do with a squad that is as strong as Spurs.

Summer window, asked 'After a good year reaching 4th, is a title push out of the question?'
Reply: "Why not? we have a good squad and with just three more signings who knows"

Fast forward to jan and its still "three more signings"
In the summer? after the Chelsea game he was still banging on about three more signings :p

No... he tried to bring Beckham in on loan.

And bids were made for several strikers to test the water but nothing came of them. Throughout the time that those bids were supposedly being negotiated, I think you'll find that he denied the whole lot.

But the Redknapp/BuyBuyBuy argument has been done to death on here, so that's all I have to say on the matter.

Come on skip, you didn't believe any of that. Redknapp's got to be the worlds worst liar; he could barely keep a straight face when he was doing his typical car window interviews.

I didn't believe a word of it. :p

But I was making the point in reply to the claims that he has always being talking about bringing in players to the media, as if to force Levy's hand.

To be honest, I'm not sure what I want as far as management goes. I can't see how bringing in someone else now will be anything but disruptive.

Remove and build for the future or wait for Harry to jump to the England job?

Bale's the most overrated player in the press and the most underrated player on internet forums (mainly because of the press loving he gets).

He clearly didn't deserve to win POTY but he's certainly become a very good player who has had a very good season. Although he's not a realistic target for us (because of the money Spurs would demand), he's exactly the type of player we need imo; genuine width, blistering pace and puts the ball in the box.

He denied the lot, except, when the window closed they confirmed who they had bid for, and it was everyone they had been rumoured to bid on. Also Redknapp said they did want to buy Beckham and might try and do it later in the year, and they tried to get Beckham on loan, and failed.

Anyway, do AC win the title if they win tonight then? Also Barca can win tomorrow but, haven't looked at the table, they were 8 points behind, if Real don't get 3 points tonight and barca win tomorrow then the titles gone? Though 8 points behind with 4 games to go, its pretty much over anyway unless Barca go through their worst losing spell in, half a decade pretty much.

He is a substantially better player than nani

Now your just crazy! Nani has been better than Bale for awhile, Even on Nani so so season he has been better than Bale imo, Bale until this season wasnt on any ones list of might come good.

Now i cant exactly rave about Nani due to club he plays for that is his only mistake :P
