**SPORE**

When I go to login, I get the 'we will now link this game to your spore.com account and I get 2 different errors that occur, either 'they key you entered is invalid' or 'you do not have the spore.com priviliges to use the online features'. In the second instance, it says I have connected, but when I go to share it says you must be logged in :-S

Any ideas?

I've got Spore sitting happily on my desk, wanting me to put it in the computer and install it. Wanting me to play it.

Shame I'm in work :(

New graphics driver worked.

I do enjoy it, but I would enjoy it even more if it didn't rush me through the stages. is there anyway to stop it from making you bigger when you hit certain dna levels?

It's a lot harder to make allies than it is to just kill them, so there really is only 1 way to play this game sucessfully. Which entirely defeats the object of it?

I'm on the verge of uninstalling it since I'm basically stuck with my socialite herbivore species, I could go back to my omnivore beast but that's no fun. They could have at least made it balanced so you can play it more than one way.

There is a lot of disappointment floating around for this, is it really as shallow and is the creature design really so pointless as many are making out?

I've not killed anyone yet and have made it to the tribal stage with no problems.

I am installing now, am I the only one where it seems to be installing REALLLLLY slowly. Like it is having trouble reading from the DVD? It is on my laptop but it is a new laptop. Is there some dodgy copy protection on it causing me trouble?

AWESOMEO! Just made my land vehicle.. its loosely based on this!

I made a kick-ass predator with around 9 claws and was wondering that it just does about damage like with one (maxed) claw. So why the hell bother putting more than ONE set of legs, ONE set of arms, ONE weapon.

Also eyes and noses seem to be totally useless.

Shame , i noticed that to... I had two deadly spikes and two deadly spit's but basically it only includes one in the stats. You can't stack :(

Yeah I noticed that. Only reason for having more pairs of legs is to have different feet to get more stats but it looks a bit stupid. I think the only thing that stacks is health but might be wrong on that too.

My anger at this discovery was sufficient to warrant the extinction of the race of "Six Eyed Bobs." Still been having a lot of fun. Can't see myself ever replaying Stage 1 though.

I am truely glad for anyone who enjoys this game, alas, I do not. As I posted earlier, I just feel this game to be a total let down, boring/repetitive/linear and rather goalless. I'm just trying to finish the Civ stage to see if the space has any hope of reviving the game for me, but as that about 4/5 through the game, I don't see this last stage will make the game suddenly feel like fun for me. Especially as you cannot go online and visit other people's planets for social or war reasons, apart from sharing what your creature looks like, whooope dooo!

Like someone has stated, it is indeed like marmite, you either hate it or love it. I think anyone who enjoyed SIMS(and to a lesser extend DOGZ & CATZ), will probably endup enjoying this game a lot. But for people who were hoping a more openended game like CIV or more ability to explore the universe with other people online and visit their planet for social or warlike interaction, you will be soarly disappointed.

There is a lot of 'Dry Cracker Syndrome' with people and this game though. ie, you have been starving for a while and someone hands you a dry cracker, you think it the best meal you ever had, but its still just a dry cracker. I'm sure that most people who love the initial look and feel of this game will pretty soon get bored and it will be left to gather dust.

The 2 releases after this dry summer, Space Siege and Spore, have both been major letdowns for me, lets hope for something, anything to come along before Xmas and revive my faith in games.

But for now, I say no thank you, I will not pay £££ for a dry cracker, my bookcase is already full of them, gathering dust.

Could have had a 'are you sure you want to uninstall Spore?' question

Had a problem with my dvd drive, so when it finally booted i clicked setup to see if it would read the disc properly, it uninstalled the bloody thing, one click on setup.exe
