Sprouts!

Along with Cauliflower, the best Veg on earth, om nom nom :).

Sprouts, asparagus and broccoli are my favorite greens. I love all veg though.

Only ones I am not a massive fan of yet is swede and parsnip. I can eat them, but the swede needs to be mashed Scandinavian style and the parsnips have to be roasted.

I need to buy some in and start experimenting. :)

Saw a recipe once called 60 second brussel sprouts. You halve, then finely slice them. Then chuck them into a hot pan to fry with Butter, salt pepper and lemon juice. and lightly fry for 60 seconds.

Going to try this when i get home. Yum!

I like sprouts too, may have to try some of the cooking suggestions above :)

Problem with sprouts is that if you overboil them they go horrible (they release a chemical or something degrades in them, not sure) which is why a lot of people dislike them.

I love them, everyone I know hate them... Maybe I need to start sneaking some properly cooked ones into the meals I serve to convince people...

Overboiled veg is disgusting no matter what it is. My personal hatred is for boiled cauliflower - thanks school dinners. Love the stuff if it's cooked properly though.

The wife always boils them till nearly tender, then fry's them for a bit with some bacon.

really nice that way.

We usually boil until tender and separately fry loads and loads of lardons in oil with lots of garlic. Once the lardons are nice and crispy, stir the lot into the sprouts.

Yummmyyyy! :D

There's a very simple way to make Brussels & Cabbage taste amazing, Just grind some Black pepper into them as they cook. Not after they have cooked but during. ;)
I can eat a bowl of sprouts on there own when cooked this way.

Love sprouts! If I have a lot of them I usually make soup (even my sister who hates them likes them as soup). Just chop up onion and a little garlic, sautee until softened. Add good chicken stock (though any stock will do), plenty of sprouts and season well with black pepper and salt. Cook until softened, then blend and serve. Yum!
