Liek I say only SATA 2 on the P5Q PRo the above were on the intel controller.

my 128gb falcon drive died last year, lasted 2 and a half years before developing bad blocks.. and for the record i found SSD life was pretty useless, it said it was gonna last until 2020 or something but then i found out after a scan it had 0.2% bad blocks which kept making windows get corrupt files. So the drive is pretty much useless to me.

Now that prices have come down a lot, which one is best? i hear M4's have problems still from looking at their forum. I guess Intel 520 is best since it has a 5 year warranty, though it also costs 50% more.

Or maybe it's better to spend less.. and if the drive dies after their 3 year warranty i could just buy a new one. Don't know what to do, but quite rapid price drops recently.

Why is the Intel 520 better for gaming than the M4?

......................................................................................................
I would love some advice on this please, so confused what to buy.

My motherboard is the Rampage 11 Extreme Intel® Socket 1366 x58
this only supports the SATA 11

I have been looking at the

Asus Sabertooth TUF X58 Motherboard, USB 3.0, SATA III
Asus SABERTOOTH X58, Intel X58, S 1366, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, SATA, PCIe 2.0 (x16), ATX

Which supports the SATA 111 ..... Should I buy this for my SSD upgrade ?

I have been looking at ...........
MZ-7PC256D/EU - 256GB Samsung 830 Series SSD Desktop Kit, SATA III, 3-core MCX, NAND-Flash, Read 520MB/s, Write 400MB/s, 256MB Cache

I am only looking at running windows 7 pro and BF3 [Online , internet connection 54mb download / 15mb upload ]on the new SSD

I have 2x 500Gb for all other software.

Please any help would be brilliant .

Thank you
Gary

Nice little upgrade, running on SATA2 on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR.

Crucial M4 128GB.

It's knocked a whole minute off my boot time and made windows so much more responsive.

I love that now my system will power down the older HHDs when they are not in use. It is amazing how loud the things really are compared to the SSD.
