Stalker 2

Standard for me, the price difference at the time of pre-order was too significant to warrant the small extras in the other editions (I think it was practically double for the deluxe and more for the ultimate).

With it being less than a week to launch I imagine all the key prices will have crept up to be around the same level now ready for launch, it might be worth for those going for the standard version to simply get a month of games pass and play it that way.

Like any other game NOBODY should be preordering this game. Preordering is the devil, only give your money to a proven entity. Preordering used to ensure you had a copy before they ran out, now it's just pushed by bad devs who want to capitalise on a launch no matter if the product is good.

Wait for reviews guys!!

But then we are told reviews can't be trusted.

Don't bother, they argue for preordering in here......
:p

I've never used the PC Game Pass before, so I might look into that.
It's tremendous value when you look at the library of games you can play/try, but I think it's something you have to kind of plan around. I usually take a look every now and then and if there's a good handful of games that I fancy playing and could get through in a month I'll drop a few quid for a sub and blitz through them.

Otherwise I find it's the same as having Netflix/Prime, you end up with so much choice that you never commit to anything and just pay a running sub for no reason.

Preordering is all about doing your research into the game before parting with the money, I do my research, hence I've been very happy with my preorders of Baldurs Gate 3, Subnautica, Elden Ring, Elden Rings expansion, Satisfactory, Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Warhammer Rogue Trader, the 2 God of War games and the list goes on. I find that most commonly the people who get let down by a preorder are the people who preordered blind or on hype rather than researching the game first.

So tell us wise one, have you preordered Stalker 2?

Is your research telling you not to or just not a fan of the franchise?
Personally I'm hoping it's awesome like the old games but there something that's feeling off to me so far. I hope the devs are just holding back because as they said they don't want to give too much away but it can also translate as "our games a janky mess so we are only showing what we know works" :p

Loved the franchise, but I have a few concerns from the very troubled development period it has had, combined with doubts over performance and combined with it being on gamepass meaning that I'll have it on day one anyway as part of my gamepass sub :)

Incidently though, there is a game which comes out the same day, called Luma Island, which I absolutely would preorder if I could because I massively enjoyed the demo of it during Steam Nextfest (sadly no preorder for it on steam it seems...at least not yet)

I get game pass free with my phone contract, so use that more often than not for new games as I don't have much time to play an assortment of games these days sadly :(

Have pre-ordered the Ultimate edition of this though, i'd say the first is probably my favourite game of all time, led me to visiting Ukraine and going to Chernobyl.

That added to the fact I sold all of my counter strike skins meant that I had more than enough sitting in my Steam wallet to buy it, so why not!
