Stalker 2

It was all working fine for me during the prologue, then my mouse suddenly started playing up and i could not turn left and right lol.

It seems like the original games in that to some degree, they have designed the combat to be as realistic as possible (for a video game). Unsurprisingly, this is certainly no arcade-type shooter, but I'm now starting to get used to the weapons.

I just need to download more VRAM.

Found my first serious game breaking bug after 16.5 hours.
In cordon, was following a sidequest "A light at the end of a tunnel".
I was coming to the end of the quest in the tunnel to the west of Rookie Village. I had just killed a poltergeist and a bunch of zombies. looted the area, grabbed the device that I was sent for then dropped down to find myself nose to nose with a damn Burer
Half way through the fight at the end of the mission it just up and CTD'd on me. Now every time with that auto save file or any autosave between the original CTD and the last manual save I get instant CTD. Havnt tried to finish off that mission yet however after some brief googling, it seems I'm not the only one with this issue. I'll fire it up and try again later this evening, but I think I might have to back track and wait for the mission to be patched.

Also, the shader compile at the startup every time... Whoever designed that, assuming this is a UE5 thing? May they stand on lego barefooted every day for the rest of their lives...

Played for around 8 hours today, and haven't been disappointed at all, in fact really really liking it.
Can't say I've had too much problem with enemies spawning in, but some of the later missions have been a bit screwy with mission markers and what to do, but that may just be me.
Graphics aren't the best, Pripyat looked good, but I seem to remember Chernobylite looking better.
Haven't had any crashes, but the game froze a few times, and had a rather amusing glitch at a vendor, plus NPC's stuck in stuffs
Gun anyone?..

Can't wait to play again tomorrow :)

I know Frame Gen creates input lag by default but the amount it creates on this game is bonkers, basically unplayable levels of mouse lag with it enabled.
well half of your frames aren't real so yea, in some games it's probably not noticeable but in a fps with fps view and every minute movement moves everything you can see.

in a driving game you probably wouldn't even notice, or would just blindly adapt to it thinking it's the cars handling characteristics.

But in first person, you can't unfeel it with mouse controls.

Im thinking about turning it off and trying 60hz instead, on oled I guess the screen doesnt look much difference to the eyes.

Basically this game is unplayable on a lot of 8GB cards as VRAM usage rises over time and saturates the framebuffer. Sounds like a VRAM leak issue.

TPUs 8gb results vary massively with this. A leak would make sense if TPUs run is very short and HUB do longer test runs - another reason why HUB is better than TPU

This game has immersed me in exactly the same way as the original which few games do. The environmental effects are impressive, even small things like rain drop sounds falling on metal objects. The lightning storms at night are well done too. Getting the hang of combat a bit more, realising I probably need to buy ammo more often.

Te developer has acknowledged that enemy spawns are completely broken right now and is working to fix it

I know they are going to get a free pass for this but there is no way they didn't know about these issues in testing - they chose to launch the game in this state, for an early access

Update ref the bugged mission, seems the fix is to not loot. I assume something I picked up, possibly a suit, its bugged. It was a suggestion from a random reddit thread and it worked for me. only lost approx 15 minutes of progress. so no great hardship!

I'm honestly so engrossed in this at the moment. The atmosphere is everything I wanted it to be. The weather, lighting and the sound make it. I find myself just chilling at shelters listening to the radio for minutes at a time the music is perfect.
