Stalker 2

I mean, I'm on the complainers side. I actually meant it should have been early access because thats what devs do when they want the community to QA their game. It was released in such a poor state. I'm glad people are having fun but they really took the pee. Too many people justifying it too.

Never heard of this. That would be awesome if they ever did it.

WHAT’S A-LIFE?

Often, the game world exists only in the player's field of view. A-Life 2.0 is a simulation system for life in the Zone. Factions and mutants are fighting for living space, migrating, capturing new places, or retreating to safer areas. A-Life is what makes Zone truly alive and unpredictable.

edit: More info

Recent reddit thread on it https://www.reddit.com/r/stalker/comments/1h0ynns/whats_alife_seeing_how_theres_a_lot_of_confusion/

Explanation from some random guy about mod fixes because im lazy

A-Life 2.0 is present, but the "offline" side of it is non-functional, and the "online" side is misconfigured causing the game to go to the default UE5 spawning system. There are at least 3 mods on Nexus that fix the "online" configuration of A-Life 2.0.

"Online" = The area directly in proximity to the player, within render distance usually. (up to 800m supposedly)
"Offline" = All the rest of The Zone. It's supposed to simulate the general world and its inhabitants in a less detailed manner. This part's code is unfinished, due to the dev that was making it being sent to the front. This part requires the devs to fix the code.

Oh dont get me wrong, theres certainly a case for it to have been EA, its just that it wouldnt have stopped the complaints because thats what so many gamers do, moan about every game, forums chock full of people finding something to moan about in every title. As I say, I'm sure there are some people out there who claim that gaming is their hobby and they're gamers, yet turn around and say they havent played a good game for 5 years and I always read that and think then why the hell are you still gaming, I wouldnt do something I dont enjoy for 5 years, so yeah, even if it had come out in EA , the complaining wouldnt have stopped, it would just be complaints about the cost of the EA, or the amount of diskspace it takes up, or the lack of preload, or the audio, or the colours on the screen, or that the gun barrel isnt accurately drawn to match the real gun in RL, or that there's too many (insert race/gender/sexuality) or that there isnt enough (insert race/gender/sexuality) or that their keyboard is dirty or some other complaint. Gamers and moaning goes hand in hand :)

Well I agree, some complain for the sake of complaining. Steam forums are just troll farms now, Steam needs to do something about it.

But I think the general complacency from the community is due to the erosion of good will within the gaming community over time. A lot of games have been released in poor states. Last one that really annoyed me was cyberpunk. Then there's the corruption of IPs due to trying to extract maximum profit. Dragon age is nothing like what was expected from the franchise. FPS games are skin merchants full of aim botters with no real solution in sight, look at the travesty of the battlefield and call of duty series now. The woke culture complaints in my mind are valid, I have nothing against LGBT and even have some close friends that identify as such but having the agenda shoe horned into everything becoming the main point of whatever film/game it is is getting tiresome (and plenty of LGBT people agree with that), it shouldn't be seen as something "different" it should just be accepted as normal. The reason it is being pushed is because its pop culture right now, again trying to obtain maximum profit. I know you mean well and I get your point but you shouldn't silence people with valid concerns by saying people are just moaning.

Yeah theres nothing wrong with someone who has complaints about a certain game, or even about a few games, its the people who complain about almost every game that get me (I'm casting one eye at you Mack from Worthabuy :D ), those are the ones where I just roll my eyes at them and think oh look, yet another game this person doesnt like, why do they bother gaming at all they clearly dont enjoy it.

i had a torch at point blank range to an NPC and all he did was stare into the distance in another direction.....the AI is really bad in this game.

though i do compare everything to current Cyberpunk levels.....even real life :D

When it comes to influencers its usually to drive views, I read a paper some years ago about how the intention is to stimulate emotion from people to form a connection to the content, obviously the stronger the emotion (positive or negative) the better the connection. It's the reason psychologists are usually employed at all levels. Manipulation really, certain emotions are easier to stimulate than others. The people doing it may not even realise they are. Other than that it's just their personality probably stemming from other things.

People also complaining about lack of credits. I already got about 20K and have upgraded a couple of items and I have not even played that much yet.

I just loot a lot and explore and find stashes etc.

Playing on normal difficulty by the way. Seems to be the way to go.

The two shot hunting rifle was really starting to become a hindrance last night in bigger fights, I thought it was a shame because I have loads of shotgun ammo saved up and hadn't really come across anything to replace it.

Next thing I'm getting the weapon glitch and had a couple of Mossbergs and a SPAS-12 in my inventory, I guess the wish granter was listening!

I like that it’s a bit rough around the edges, the AI spawning keeps me on edge the whole time! I’m completely engrossed, few games have me looking down a dark tunnel and thinking nope, let’s go the other way. The soundtrack is eerily perfect. The game mechanics still throw in some confusion, it’s a decent learning curve, again, this is refreshing.

My funniest bug so far is my new armour where the logo in the inventory is a giant loaf of bread :D

It actually brings bag original Stalker vibes with the bugs too.

I’ve ditched it for the 6 shot combat shotgun now :)
