Stalker 2

Time to dive back in thanks!

I'm over 50hrs in, just mucking around doing side quests and enjoying the world. Not even 50% of the way through the actual story because there's still a few game breaking bugs which stop progress unless you use the console. I'll go back to the story once another patch is released. I've been hunting stashes and have pretty much most of the map opened up. Lots of the best weapons etc. I fear maybe doing all the stashes and side quests first like this might make the story somewhat easy though considering the enemies where I left off are no longer much of a threat and I'm pretty much a tank in comparison lol

Always expected bugs after playing the previous games but it’s a bit annoying there’s still game breaking stuff in there. Maybe need to hold off a bit longer. Got plenty to go at so no rush.

How’s the performance now? Tried it on launch day and the FPS was fine but weirdly still felt a bit stuttery. Wasn’t sure if this was down to frame gen or something though but tbh didn’t play long enough to tinker.

I'm using my loaf and not trying this infinite money bug.
I found a huge loaf on a dead body in the X15 mission a couple of days ago, it's really decent power armor so even though you can't upgrade it I'm still wearing it. It only has 2 pockets for artifacts so I'm hoping to find a couple of pitta breads to upgrade it with  I've sent in a bug report and am hoping the fix will end up with me keeping the armor and stats whilst allowing upgrades.

/Edit: They have replied to let me - "We’re aware of the issue you described, and our team is actively monitoring related reports. We understand how this impacts your gameplay experience, and we’re working to ensure it’s addressed in upcoming patches."

I'm just waiting for the new big patch that adds HWRT and stuff as the Lumen "boiling" noise is rather distracting. Stupid UE5....

Still waiting for a patch so I can continue my game
Sorry to hear that, I'm over 100 hours in and haven't had a game braking bug yet. There's a memory leak bug in Rostock when you're working with your stash which is a bit of a PITA and I've disabled shader compiling until this gets fixed. Game of the Decade for me.

133 hours in according to Steam and about 60% through main story. Loving it lots, except for some annoying bugs like the blinking bug upon loading after you drink with
Dvupalov
Until you finish that mission. Always off on the beaten track really, exploring is where most of the time goes

Performance is good and in 50hrs I've only had 1 crash and it was probably my own fault...
I was in an area with multiple glass anomalies and warping anomalies. I found that if I fired my gun in the air I could attract bandits, sometimes dogs, more bandits or people who wanted me dead. Basically an unlimited amount of people/animals would come past with only a few minutes between them. I kept attracting them over and then standing inside one of the broken glass anomalies nice & safe while they did everything they could to kill me until they eventually came too close and killed themselves. Dogs jumping into the glass was the funniest. To cut a long story short, I must have had well over 50 dead bodies, both human and dog littered all around my anomalies, some getting pulled into the warping ones. It ended up a right stutter fest when trying to look around and then it just crashed to desktop.

I've started using an epic settings mod to make the most of my 4090 now.

Thanks mate, I've got a similar system to you so sounds good :D

I expected this to have bugs but I'm still excited to try it when I get round to buying it at some point
It seems like a bit of a lottery reading everything in this thread, but I haven't really had any issues with it after about 20 hours. The only mod I'm using is one that clearly labels the different ammo types which just replaces some images. Nothing that changes the engine or experience.

Yeah early on it was a bit of a mess bug wise, but a concerted campaign to route out major game breaking bugs and performance issues solved a lot of the initial problems. Though it appears there is a bit of a lottery on stability. Some get away with a smooth play through others suffer.
I think at this stage its very much a case of "milage may vary". I had a couple early game braking issues that were solved by reloading earlier saves. Plus an enduring performance issue on long play sessions. However it appears my experience has been one of the better ones. Most of my issues were patched out in early patches. As it stands I've paused shy of the end before you reach the point of no return for the end game. As the masochist I am quite happy to just stop where I am. I have decided to wait for all DLC to release before I finish the game.
