Star Trek Online

I noticed there was a music player or something in the game. Did anyone see this from the drop down menu in the top right of the screen?

It actually seems to be broken (or they've removed the functionality for some reason).

It did let you control external players (like Winamp or Media Player) directly from within the game.

<edit> Actually, just looked into it. Go to your audio options and you can select either Winamp or iTunes as your ingame player. The music player will then directly control that application without having to leave the game.

This ^^

Just controls Winamp or Itunes and significantly reduces in-game sounds.

no idea how do i find out lol

Go to the fleet screen and it will say on there. Can be accessed from the drop down menu next to your mini map.

Surely that is the point of a guild bank? You're hardly going to put BETTER gear in exchange for what you took out.
Captain to admirals quite easily get lt. to cmdr gear as drops, so they can be put in the bank for those levels. The lt to cmdr quite easily get drops for ensign to lt levels etc. You pass the gear downwards. The only ones who might struggle are the capt-admiral levels :D
Seems pretty straight forward to me...

Also I looked today and the tab is jam packed. What's the level of credits now? I see it says 1.2mil for a new tab.

Exactly. I neither put anything in nor take anything out of the bank and neither do i plan to, for a no drama fleet there sure is a lot of drama going on in the fleet chat for the past few days over a few tiddly pieces of MkIV gear being removed.

There's no point in there being a bank if people are going to kick up a fuss if it's not one of a select few taking things out.

I read something on the official forums that might be handy - it's a bug, so I'm not sure if using it might be a good idea since it might be classed as exploiting but I doubt you'd get a smack on the wrist for doing it:

You can currently only set 1 fore and 1 aft weapon to auto fire. However if you are very quick with clicking you can set multiple guns to auto fire, needs very fast fingers though, easier in a laggy zone like sector space or earth spacedock. I wish they had this implemented as a feature, but alas not... it might save you from having to buy a new keyboard in a couple of weeks though due to your spacebar snapping :)

also sorry if someone mentioned this already, not sure if they did

More than anything I wish they had left autofire on one ground weapon - really dont understand why they took this out.

Yeah, I never get tired of multiple disintegrations, also once your away team gets more ground skills it becomes a lot more interesting.

I really love Polaron weapons, but due to Polaron being an Admiral level skill I've had to go with Disruptors and Phasers as I need most of the points in Admiral for my ship skill :/

is the fastest way to lvl up doing misions? iv been in a group with some mates who are higher rank than me will that be as effective or do i need to do my own missions?

Did anyone pre-order this from Game? I'm a bit confused with what is going on.

I didn't want to enter my CD-Key yet as I won't get any play time until the weekend, but I thought I'd register the DS9 uniform code to get it out the way. Anyway I've entered the code off the DS9 cratch card which said it was activating 'Star Trek Online - Gold Edition', which has now seemingly set my account to an active state with game time until 5th April 2010. I've been able to log in and I now have a Red-matter device in the c-store but no sign of the DS9 uniforms.

Has anyone else experienced the same? I assume this is some sort of cockup on Cryptic's part, otherwise what is the cd-key on the back of the manual used for?

Edit- turns out I do have DS9 uniforms as well as the TNG one.

I would love an invite to the fleet. I am really struggling with the social aspect of this game, it all seems too "detached" and i sometimes feel i am playing a single player game.
