Star Trek Online

Some nice FE, 3 series so far of 5 eps per series. New space sectors (no more grid and lolipops) and some tweaks here and there and redone crafting.

Foundry might be out soon. Which is where the 100 missions JGBR mentioned is coming from.

The quality of the missions could be from really bad to really good tho.

No the moderation system has been changed in beta so on quality should get through - ha.

I have a five part series 1 prepared for you all. so watch this space.

Have they enabled a method to move tribble ones to holodeck or do ppl have to recreate them from scratch like was thought to be the case before?

No idea as of yet, as crypitc have moved users ones into the public game

hence why i paused making my missions as I might have to re do them all for the public launch.

So is anyone playing STO? Foundry was supposed to relaunch it but even myself has a hardcore sto fan has not bothered much.

It's mostly missing an actual reason to be a subscription based game. Theres very little (if anything really) to work towards once at the level cap that would give an excuse to continue subscribing and logging on.

Atm it's more of a sub for a month when they release major updates, check out the new stuff then cancel.

In fairness i haven't been on since the foundry went live so maybe the player content will help out but then again, i don't pay Cryptic £10 a month so their players can make their content for them.

I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my subscription. I haven't logged in in over a week as there is nothing really to do (unless my mates are on and then will will PvP over Team Speak).

I enjoyed this when it first came out but gave up because it was all just too shallow, ship customisation was too limited, battles not complex enough, too many "scan this" missions, not enough interaction with anything......

For instance, I should have been able to purchase what ever warp core I wanted in my little space ship, out fitit with whatever shields, consoles or weapons regardless of what Level I was at.
I should have been able to buy additional weapon slots, console slots, recruit whatever officers I wanted on the ship.

Leveling up should mean I get access to a bigger ship with even more customisation methods.
Just not enough of anything to do on it.

I share your concerns

I am a "hardcore" STO fan, was in alpha, beta, holodeck, foundry test and subscriber and I have not logged in for weeks.

They deployed foundry and I hoped that would pick the game up but thats still not even working.

Partly the question being: why should users write their own missions but also their is perhaps deeper problems in STO.

Also a lot of trekkies are struggling with the storyline etc so we come back to the core issue.

Is STO the right star trek online take on a MMO

Tbh how they even managed to release this game and call it an MMo is beyond me, no freedom of exploration on planets and very repetative ship to ship combat. At £2.50, I would still say it was the worst game I've ever played, I can't think of anything less devoid of gameplay or worthwhile content..:(
