I really like all of the changes they have made in the last year. Wish I hadn't stopped playing tbh. Can't really get back into it now though, been gone too long

Escort is definitely the most fun IMO. Having ranked up all 3 character and ship types, I have to say I am glad that my first character and main was a tactical escort type. From the betas, it was always clear that dps was the most useful focus in cryptic games.

The game has kind of left me behind now though. I remember aggressively marketing stuff and making a fortune on the auction house during release and when the crafting gear was released. Then when they brought in Latinum, leaving my character mining it over night and making a fortune.

The last I played was during the Romulan weeklies, just kind of burned out.

I miss having my g13 for this game too. Sold it shortly after release. The joystick and controls all at one hand certainly made the game more immersive.

Yeah, always the same. Was good last year when I managed to get a load of the OcUKers back on there - we had some great teaming and had a good crack at the STFs, but it is quite lonely otherwise.

The defiant is an amazing little ship - felt absolutely fantastic dogfighting around the larger ships during fleet actions.

They always said they were working on mass effect style ground combat, but it never came through. A shame, could have been a much better game for it. Ground combat always has been horrible.

The best of the dev team left a long time ago. Don't blame them tbh, it was one of the worst communities going. The devs just couldn't win whatever they did.

I don't think it is that surprising, it is a decent game and space combat was always fantastic.

It is just a shame that it didn't get much financial backing and had loads of content missing as a result.

I have fond memories of this game, especially playing with OcUKers at release and with our revisit to it about 18 months later. Don't think I could ever go back to it though.

erm, well it was the OcUK fleet that I started. But since I stopped playing I promoted a couple of regulars from the forums to take lead (Anon-e-mouse is one of them

Are there any active fleets these days? There certainly weren't many when I used to play.
