I'm a lieutenant lvl 6 at the moment, and coming to the end of how much I can deal with! It's just a bit too slow. Spend a few mins travelling to a star system, enter, fight off bad guys, win some credits (how do you use merits etc??)

With the skill points as well - i've allocated all I can (ie. the first column is all upto lvl 9) and I have loads of points left. Do I have to wait until I'm the next rank before I can allocate the points?

Not enjoying it as much as i had hoped to, too many loading screens. Dare i say it still playing WoW lol

Character animation when on land just seems wrong to me. Space combat is ok. but meh.

I was really hoping for a SWG type game, open worlds and space, you havent even got the basics of an mmo in having two sides to pick from to fight against each other.

I think they have really missed toe boat in this, the same bugs are in the game 10 days from release that PC Gamer had in a preview written 5-6 weeks ago.

You can create a Klingon to fight against the Federation.

I've also cancelled my pre-order, its just not finished. I've had fun with it and can see myself checking it out in few months time as I think theres a good game there but too many other really excellent games are vying for my attention atm and this one needs to go back in the oven

Also I would have been more inclined to part with my cash if I hadn't experiencing cryptic's "customer support".

I will cancel my pre-order if:

A) The lag isnt fixed
B) The item comparison feature isnt fixed

Aside from that, nothing major really concerns me. I've enjoyed the space and ground combat and think they work really well (aside from the obvious).

I'm keeping my pre-order on as you get 30 days free with it so I'll trial it out then.

What I want fixing is the lag, mission balancing, and the random ground crashes. Not playing the beta anymore I don't think I'm at 14 and I don't want to get any further and have to do it all again when headstart kicks in.

I think the space combat is very very shallow why cant you target individual targets on a ship such as shields or weapons and so on.

At first i really liked this but the more I have played the less good it has become I am now at a point where it's a boring repetitive grind @ lt9.

Nope i agree, and i think your right they really have missed a trick, it's a shame as ive been looking forward to this for a while.

I keep logging into the beta and trying to force myself to like it, that can't be a good sign in itself........

Its a lot better and not stuttery when u turn the details down im on just one notch down from recommended. If i use recommended its stutter city.

Anyone know which settings are causing such problems so i can improve the quality but keep them stutter settings off or low?

Im actually enjoying it a bit more now. If its all fixed up when released i might save up and get a life time sub.

You can also get a boarding party which takes 3 shuttles across to the enemy ship to disable thier systems, have had them do the shields, engines and weapons on a battle crusier before which was handy as i was getting mauled at the time.

I was just looking through the security officer skills last night and apparently you can send a security team to 'deal' with them

dam i pre ordered this on steam , is there anyway to cancel?

after a weeks play getting alittle fed up , graphics are dated the ships are very low polygon count and the skills system is a joke atm!

You can cancel pre orders on Steam, may take an email to customer services though, not sure if there's a "cancel order" link anywhere.

You can cancel a pre-order through the Steam support web site by creating a new question in "Contact Support". It usually takes a couple of days for them to process it.

I cancelled my pre-order though I might try it out again in a few months time once release has died down.
