He's too old to be doing much more than just bodily functions bless him. I suspect he probably has a few accidents there too. He probably just wants to die in peace now. Shame he made this to soil the legacy.

Well it's hardly cancelled as you put it. Sounds like that was the plan as Stewart is getting too old now.
I didn't put it as anything.
You said it was cancelled. That implies the studio canned it. However the showrunner has said that 3 seasons were all that was planned. It was never intended to be a long running show.

Make up could have done a better job to de-age him a bit but the worse thing about this picard vs the past one is his voice. Its just that he has lost its commanding presence and depth and thats the big thing i think which has been lost.
Shame they cant use that ai stuff to map young faces onto old i.e deepfake stuff. I think ai voices could probs be used too to get the old sounding picard back kinda. Tho its probs a little ways off from commercial use but still, the stuff fans do on utube with ai stuff for these things is pretty cool, just wished hollywood would use em a bit more.

Picard is supposed to be what, 98 now? so pretty old. But, people live longer in stark trek future. Bones was knocking on 140 when he appeared in TNG so..i dunno. He's probably about right looks-wise, ignoring the fact he's a bloody robot now

Not the same Picard as far as I am concerned, so not a problem. This Picard is clearly from a different universe, or so I keep telling myself...from greatness to ridiculousness; this scene still haunts me:

Series 2 is about now. I expect it will be a load of filler and then the bit with Q will be right at the end. I suspect most people will skip their way through the episode.
I wasn't hopeful, but after reading some initial reactions in some of the US forums this morning people are saying it feels a little like a soft reboot after season 1. Initial reactions seem pretty positive.
I do remember that Season 1 was decent & then for me went downhill after episode 3 as it started to feel like a generic sci-fi show.

I still enjoyed season 1, Picard is great regardless so have been looking forward to season 2. Likewise Discovery this season has been good, especially in recent episodes. Starfleet stuff, discovering stuff, space aliens, new tech, imminent peril.... Classic Trek.
