Star Trek: Picard

What gets me is why no writer of these shows ever seems to want to visit new ground such as say the Hur'q returning, perhaps a rogue preserver who loathes his brethren's creations or some other super advanced threat that has absolutely nothing to do with any established 'lore'. There's also the Tholians who have sadly been left to rot for no good reason.

I see what they have done here the last two outings didn't do so well so for the big finale

Somehow the Borg and Enterprise D have returned

But I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy seeing it

I'm confused as to where this is all going....

Every starship is connected to each other and at frontier day. Those who are under the age of 25 have been assimilated and told to kill anyone not joined to the collective. That means every starship captain is now dead with the fleet heading to earth. How is one ship and a handful of people going to fix all that? Please don't say time travel

my money on Q returning to reincarnating Picard

"Welcome to the afterlife, Jean-Luc. You're dead."

- Q, to Picard

"Q, what is going on?"
"I told you. You're dead, this is the afterlife, and I'm God."
"You are not God!"
"Blasphemy! You're lucky I don't cast you out or smite you or something."

- Picard and Q

:D

Obviously has to do with Jack saving the day. Somehow.

The only thing that I'm disappointed with is that its the borg....again...I had really hoped it was going to be the Pah Wraith and Sisko would pop up to save the day (would have made much more sense with the Changeling connection imo), the Borg are becoming to Star Trek what the Daleks are to Dr Who. Theres a big baddie , oooh who is it....oh its them again.

I agree somewhat, the Borg are simply iconic and they don't really have a baddy who is bigger and better than them. Other than maybe Q's lot.

I'd argue that 50-100 captains (I didn't count how many ships were in the fleet) is obviously really bad for Starfleet, but not as bad as losing 39 starships and 11,000 people at Wolf 359
