Star Trek: Picard

That was incredible. I went through the full range of emotions!
Shaw's scene almost got me which I don't think has ever happened with Star Trek before, I think all the fan ruckus for a show with Shaw made it even more intense as it had some meta to it as well

all the D stuff was 10/10

although sadface that geords "restored" the bridge back to TNG not Generations style (I liked the extra bit on the side!)

not really minding the way they joined up the story elements, dna, transporters etc etc
pretty clever stuff

also shelby! what a cameo

only things i dont like AT ALL:

1. all the instant takeover and multiple thousands of people dead in what like 5 mins?
2. Jack going to the borg - you just killed 10xthousands of people, like 50%+ of all starfleet officers?

yes is dramatic but what's the point you just lost everyone we ever saw in TNG, DN9, Voyager (all over 25)
did they have to murder everyone to make it dramatic? they couldnt just capture / takeover etc?

they aren't dead. Geordies kids are among the assimilated.

Beverley knows they beamed the dna in and due to *science* they'll beam it out.

all under 25s in the fleet assimilated
everyone else ? shot at with red phasers from what they showed / blown up Excelsior
for example see Capt Shaw

thousands of ships with hundreds of crew (Ent F is 1600 on its own - how many over 25 on board just got blasted?)

the D crew are like "ooh look at the carpet" while spacedock is getting blown up by the fleet? that alone must have tens of thousands of people on it?

Ah, thought you meant the under 25's. No mutilation or cybernetic implants, so that can easily be explained away and they can become human again.

We haven't seen them blow up space dock yet, but even if they do, the ultimate goal for the Borg is to get to earth and Picard to save mankind.

The ship crews may also have been taken hostage/stored for assimilation as oppose to been killed.

Too many assumptions - from both of us.

Don't worry, we'll just take the best of both of your ideas...

It's really odd that Mulgrew hasn't shown up at all considering the likelihood that Janeway would be the most senior of the Admiralty and directly mentioned during this season.

Not a fan of the:
Ent F design, looks a bit bulky vs the sleek Enterprise E, and the deflector just looks all wrong.

Is it just me or does that ship kinda look like an updated Galaxy class design?

<nerd>

both are from ST:Online

F was a competition to design it winner
Other one is "ross class"

</nerd>

Yeah i heard about how the F came about, some competition winner designed it. The E looked much better imo, shoulda trotted that out for a final appearance rather than a ship that according to the storyline is being decommissioned due to a computer bug(?), which will likely be resolved in the final episode.

Each to their own. I'm in the minority in this case, so I hope you all appreciate my opening sentence, but this just doesn't resonate with me. It's so cheesy.

I just can't get over all these shows being a bunch of member berries.

The big bad was sooo obvious about half way through the season, and the execution of the whole thing is just shoe horning all the enemies into one sloppy story.

At the very least, I'm glad they turned on the lights.
