**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

Nah i think sales an longevity will show, people bitching the same old thing every time a new EA title comes out that isn't BF isn't any thing to go by.

Sheep follow sheep.

Nothing to do with sheep. It's the same as Hardline. It's all fancy with graphics and sounds, but the core gameplay is severely lacking.

Like the sheep that blindly follow the sheep into buying a game regardless of the actual content?

See it works both ways. Fanboy sheep and Realist sheep.

It sure looks and performs great but that's where the greatness ends, its possibly the most shallow online shooter ive ever played.

It also sounds great....and that + what you said pretty much sums it up :(

edit..Also just found out the MM ping limit is 400 so do enjoy playing in a Singapore server cos no server browser :D

Yup reading more and more of people saying the same about the gameplay now I.e. boring, no depth etc. Safe to say I definetly won't be buying it now, next up overwatch.....

Such a shame as they could have made this an epic game and still kept it very different to bf 4 + cod/titan fall with just a few minor tweaks but I guess at the end of the day, they didn't have much time to get this game out with the upcoming film and they wanted it to be a game where anyone could pick it up and have some fun with it.

The MM system is a joke too.

2 whole whopping posts.... :p I wouldn't call that anything to be concerned about at least not like all the issues which batman, watch dogs, fallout 4, ac unity etc. had/have :p Anyway my post was tongue in cheek just like yours so not actually serious :)

Well the forum has just started, it's giving an error we used to see a lot in BF4 though and some people really struggle to fix it and have to just put up with crashes.

I'm pleased I haven't bought it to be honest, the gameplay seems bland as can be and it still has the common problems found with that engine.

Not having a browser is really starting to grind, can't find a game just keeps saying connecting no matter what game mode I select. Was working fine last night.

Played about 6 Hours of this on the PC since last night and for £26 that i paid its definatly worth it. I disagree about the core gameplay lacking. As Eurogamer said this game reminds me more of something like Goldeneye. Its simple, easy to get into a so much fun with your friends. For me the only thing lacking is the amount of maps. There should have been double the amount. Doing walker assault which is the 20v20 mode theres only 4 maps and you can't help wish there was more.

Everything is at stock and just had 2 crashes game EXE has stopped working blah blah. But finally got logged in and straight into a game.

Loved Goldeneye, awesome game :)

Well I took a trip to mexico and bought it after not enjoying the beta, just really wanted to see if they had taken any of the criticisms on board from the beta.

Some parts are better but the lack of weapons and maps mean it's going to get boring fast. The grenade spam was also getting worse as people unlocked more star cards, and whoever invented the homing launcher wants shot in the face repeatedly.

Anyway if you enjoy the game that's great, it's not for me though and just had my refund authorized.

But fanboys like the line ie star wars the haters haven't even played the full retail game but jump on a banned wagon with the same reasons every EA release.
Its not BF blah blah, if people hate the game that's fine but whats the point of jumping in every thread sprouting the same crap?
Sounds more like haters hatting as they've nothing better to do or just moaning for the sake of it.
Think the slack hand full of moaning posts show that.

There's my point, hardline was slatted as it wasn't the same as BF just the same way this is.

The issue with dice is they created a series called battlefield and then lost sight what it was about which was a fun core gameplay. I played for 8 years with bf1942 and Bf2 and I played the others also but while I played Bf2 for 5 years the rest of the series just are crap.

EA did things but the main thing is dice themselves dont know...........what the core fun game play is about anymore. they dont know what to do to make it a battlefield fun core gameplay again.

I do.
They could hire me and I help them fix it back to what it was.
since they aint I guess its fine for me to state what everyone who knows battlefield the good old days that dice sold their soul to ea and lost sight of what made their games fun.

They could do so much better games if they got this right again but they dont know what to do.
Just saying m8.

battlefront is really streamlined to log in look at the visuals, hear the sound and then log off as its tendered to console gaming.

The game isn't fully out yet for the general public who don't know/want to do the vpn trick. We shouldn't judge the game until after a few days granted.

But you will always get the "rose tinted specs" mob out and the "zomg new game must pre-order nowz" mob - part of what makes PC gaming so interesting.

But we are all sheep in one way or another. We all need to be sheep in the not pre-ordering movement, but that's a topic for a different thread.

As has been pointed out, you don't really need to play any more than the alpha/beta to know what the gameplay will be like for the final version... Different game modes and different maps is not going to change the basics/core of the gameplay...

Tbh, the "hate" is justified imo, for many this was going to be the next big MP game to last us until the next BF game but instead they give us this, a game that will be lucky to last more than a few months.

Also, most people who have/are playing the game now have admitted to the gameplay being shallow, no depth etc. regardless of it being fun and as some have already said, if you take away the amazing graphics and star wars theme, chances are, those people would never have even bothered with the open beta. At the end of the day, if it weren't for the upcoming film and all the star wars hype, this game would never been announced/released, it is a quick cash grab for EA, nothing else.

As for the lack of "hate" posts and posts in general, give it a few days as most people won't be unlocking it early like the few who have done on here but I have to say, regardless of that, there really doesn't seem to be much interest in the game on here, previous MP launches like BF 4/3 seemed to be a lot more popular....

Hardline was very similar to BF 4 and was "hated" for different reasons:

- it should have been a DLC, the core of the game was the same except no/little vehicles, a cop/robbers theme with a few tweaks here and there.... Star wars is far closer to COD/titan fall than it is to hardline/BF
- developers put on the good act of listening and doing what the majority wanted for the alpha/beta but come the final release, they didn't do a single thing until it was too late and afaik, still haven't changed what many have been begging for since release i.e. the insta TTK, netcode, awful weapon balance, commander mode being OP

Had they listened and done what most wanted, I put money on it that the game would have been alive for a lot longer.

EDIT:

Even lvlcap who is a ronku whore said the game lacks depth and without it being star war, it would be dead in months :p

EDIT 2:

Even on xfactor's stream, he said 20v20 walker assault will get boring quickly and that is the best game mode according to him....

Again, if people enjoy it, fair enough and glad you guys are having a good time but I don't think anyone can deny that the game had so much more potential.

Star Wars original trilogy (Film) I grew up with and this looks absolutely stunning. Just watching a guy on twitch play through the maps. Maps are a bit choke point to that of my old fav Bf 1942 that you had to travel in most case to the fight and it was not this constant killing. Having said that it looks great fun. I have well over 1K boxed original SW toys stowed away, this brings them to life. Time also to sell me thinks although that would be a heart tug…

Disconnect the VPN when in game and you get matchmaking in EU. Been perfectly fine ping wise for me.

I agree with a lot of posters in here - I feel that its appeal is Star Wars theme and great visuals. It's otherwise a shallow shooter.

I think I'm going to get tired of the same blaster noise from (it seems like) all weapons :D
