**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

Star Wars original trilogy (Film) I grew up with and this looks absolutely stunning. Just watching a guy on twitch play through the maps. Maps are a bit choke point to that of my old fav Bf 1942 that you had to travel in most case to the fight and it was not this constant killing. Having said that it looks great fun. I have well over 1K boxed original SW toys stowed away, this brings them to life. Time also to sell me thinks although that would be a heart tug…

Probably be the best time to sell around about now anyway, with the upcoming release of The Force Awakens, there will be more interest in the goods.

Just had another few hours on this, and really starting to enjoy it. Unlocked a few more guns and "cards" and starting to learn the levels. My kill death ratio is terrible though :D but I'm having fun :)

The mode with the three droids is great fun, small teams with moving capture points. Just hit rank 9 and can't put the game down, quite addictive!

Well as long as you're having fun. :p

I'm quite a Battlefield fan and at first I hated the Battlefront beta. But then I got into it and actually enjoyed it enough to feel sort of sad when it ended. I'm quite looking forward to the full game, which I'll hopefully be getting for my birthday on Friday. And I also look forward to being able to use it as a test title for monitors as I'm getting a bit sick of using BF4 for that. ;)

I slated this to hell in the beta, especially on Walker Assault due to the imbalance, but to be fair to DICE they listened and tweaked it, so hats off to them for that.

Really enjoyed the Blast game, which is basically TDM & most of the maps are good, but the Hutt sail barge map is terrible, it's a spawn die fest & one I skip if I can.

Still think the Hero's appearances are out of place & destroy some of the games tbh.

The Endor maps are my faves, the forest & the visuals on that are stunning.

8/10 for me & that's from someone who swore not to buy it.

you have sold it to me , i'm in. :D

I've just put in for a refund and I have to say this game has missed a trick.

EA/DICE had the opportunity to create an epic multiplayer experience and what they have managed to create is a beautiful looking, wonderfully sounding boring game.

Walker Assault is proabably the best the game has to offer and even then I find myself running around without the feeling of fighting for something bigger. It's just dull with no variety, no strategy. Once the visuals and sound wear off then it's ultimately a very shallow shooter.

It will sell well and be a success financially solely on the brand, but the game itself is extremely basic and stick any other name on it and i'd say it would suffer badly.

Yeah the stuff is mint, some still to have the stickers affixed etc from the sheet. Sad really Toys that have never seen the light of kids lol. If you had a man cave and cabinet it would look great. They’re all are packed away safe and sound.

Would I like £1k for some of the cost of a new PC sure but I’d regret selling it all being a huge SW fan I just feel.

You know what I loved my BF1942 as it was huge and you had freedom and it felt like you were needed and counted, a real fight. This after watching a good few hours on twitch I feel it is just one of those kill, kill, kill, die, kill, die, die, kill in five minutes wash and repeat. Don’t like it auto aims as it tries to water down how much skill is needed to play. You could play all day just for the sound track it must be said but I agree they need to grow balls and make game more grand. The simplistic flight model while easy to fly just lacks a bit of vision that says “hay lets make it more challenging and let the players have to learn to play well over time” They are just scared of the “I got killed and its too hard” brigade leaving crap reviews.

Played a walker assault on a lava type map, for some reason the map never ended and we were basically stuck on it. They've changed the way turrets behave and they're no longer super twitchy, still not sold on the aircraft...oh wait this is a dice game so that word doesn't exist, still not sold on the "air vehicles" ( ) as they still seem very floaty.

The blaster shots also could do with being sped up i feel, any kind of range for infantry battles and its just weird looking seeing them make their way across the map.

You must do what you feel is right, of course

This seems to sum up the general sentiment. Agree with Nexus points RE the next big game. I was really looking forward to this game but I'm not sure if I'll bother trying it out now given most of the early reviews I've seen have come to the same conclusion.

Personally im just going to wait for a sale,Im tired of EAs prices and DLC crap that should be in the regular game to start with.

Yea this is the killer for me. EA deliver half a game for full price and expect people to pay extra for the missing bits. E.g. the clone wars campaign isn't even in the game at launch (even though it was in Battlefront 2).

They could have done so much more with the game, things have moved on in the last 10 years...

said it many times, dice lost the edge after Bf2.
when they started the Bf2 you had people watching them unfold that game and it was great.
However the EA addition ruined them.
They did what many do, sold out to money.

I don't think the frostbite 3 engine is capable of maps any bigger than we saw in bf4.

BFH was small in scope and i think development wise its probably very cost effective to make games like that as they require far less work with smaller maps and less weapons.

I thought the SWBF was going to be just like BFH in scope after playing the beta and from the sounds of things it is very similar. At least if you realize that you can't be disappointed when you buy the game because you know how small it is going to be.

What ever you do, don't sell this stuff!!

Star wars is nothing like hardline except maybe small maps....

The closest game to star wars is titan fall.
