**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

The map they showed couldn't be any more generic and bland if they tried? An empty snowscape? If this didn't have the Star Wars brand on it what would people genuinely be getting excited over?

DICE have the capability to make solid, captivating, detailed worlds, but EA push them down the gimmick route time and time again.

A proper Vietnam Battlefield without any of the lockon rubbish that's in modern day shooters would be much preferred than this in my opinion anyway.

Hmm I might even hit 1000 hours in bf4 at this rate :(. I hope when it comes to release I'm happily proved wrong.

The fact that to a game developer a world like this has the fewest assets and is easily put together is pure coincidence then? ;)

To me it's another example of EA putting in the least amount of effort required to convince gamers to lay down cash on another of their games which will no doubt later turn out to be another flop built on pre-release hype.
 
Battle Front does look good although it seems to remind me of Battlefield 2142 (which was good)

I just wish DICE would remake the original Battlefield 2 for the PC. Game play and multiplayer campaigns were epic.


part of me thinks rockstar would be a good choice for a Battle Front / SWG remake, even a re-skinned gta v would be cool.

I will still most likely buy this and shelve along with Battlefield 4
 
I just watched the E3 trailers and thought it looked great! And then I come in here and you lot all seemed to have watched different videos? Presumably ones where DICE steal your cookies and call your mum fat, going by the whinging going on...

Which one did you see the ps4 trailer or the 15 second pc short?
 
No aim down sights? What???

I know they are trying to keep within the traditional battlefront games, but times have moved on... That might be a game changer for me...

Or stepped back. Depends how you look at it. Compared to the skill based hipfiring games of the 90s, current ads spamathons are like bowling with the inflatable bumpers up.

I'd love a BF type game that borrows gameplay from RTCW or ET. Even CS would be better. Sadly, and mostly due to consoles, I suspect ads is here to stay.

That gameplay footage on the PC, I imagine it's also a bit unbalanced just for showcasing purposes. If it really was that easy to die, he would have been shot down much sooner.

Please stop giving developers your money in advance based on smoke and mirrors and childhood nostalgia...

This game will be buggy, won't live up to the hype, and leave a lot of people who paid way more money than they should have very disappointed. Meanwhile EA and the other big devs probably already consider it a massive success because they already have their money back and then some; they're probably even planning out the day 1 DLC for a sequel already (which all the same people will unquestionably pre-order)

This is the truth of the matter, the craze of paying to join beta or pre-ordering anything from the like of EA, UBI, ****avisio etc is just money down the drain :)

There are plenty of games that don't use aim down sights.

It's Battlefront, not Battlefield.

It looks like Battlefront 2, but with upgraded graphics.

You sound awfully like a Battlefield player who's never played Battlefront, and feels entitled that Battlefront should just be Battlefield.
