**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

This must be funny for new comers, like it was for me when I started playing BC2. I now have years of disappointment to rage about when every new DICE game comes out.

Also be advised that this game will have all the bugs and issue's from day 1 that the past bf games have had. Hold on haven't even played hardline, how was that?

Really good actually. Day 1 was the best launch I have seen from a frostbite game.
 
ok similar to Hardline this will be my last post in this thread until after the game releases and the inevitable DICE **** storm takes place. I don't want to derail the thread by posting negativity towards the game, but mark my words don't expect this to be any different to any other DICE release. If the game turns out great and plays flawlessly online with a high player count after a few months then I will purchase it but don't expect me to pre-order even with the cheap Mexican VPN route.

Cool quote regarding someone who got to play as Luke.

LT was for an underhead saber attack and RT was for overhead. when i saw vader i tried to force push him but he blocked then charged me and we both did overhead attacks and we clashed for a second and it was like a parry. at this point my health was low since he had a supporting cast of stormtroppers bombarding me with lasers and grenades so we did one more clash and i died due to the gunfire. It seems that in the fighting you need to try to guess if theyre doing over/underhead and press the button at the right time and it opens up a strike window. sorry man i died pretty quick

Lets face it, this will not be the epic Star Wars experience were hoping for... that will likely never exist. What we will get is an arcadey romp with cool visuals and sound from the movies, and 3/5 gameplay at best. It sounds like it is much more dumbed down than BF4, which is a huge shame as Star Wars should be taken seriously and should have some skill and technicality to control of the characters and vehicles. They are aiming this at the masses, young kids included, to achieve some "pick up and play" *******isation that is accessible by anyone, including the lowest possible common denominators.

If I ever become a billionaire I am going to make the ultimate massive multiplayer Star Wars game, with dedicated team-based space combat as satisfying as TIE Fighter, weapons and saber combat as satisfying as Jedi Knight, with 100 players per map. :p

Sounds like every BF and CoD game released in the last decade. I stopped buying these games now - but the same with a Star Wars skin will be enough to hold my interest. For a bit.

It is based on the Battlefront games which are completely unrelated to the BF franchise.

Before the reveal people were moaning about it probably being a BF reskin, and now that DICE are keeping it pretty close to the original two games people are moaning it isn't a BF skin. :)
 
TBH the more I see the more I feel this will just be another Battlefield Hardline but with a huge franchise in the name.

I can't see myself buying this on release, which will be a first for all the BF games I have.

It's like when the Americans bought Nestle and started messing around with British chocolate formulas and messed up the great taste of Caramac bars.:(

EA have done the same to DICE. This game will only appeal to die hard Star Wars movie fans and together with EA and Youtube this game will be hyped like every other game but on the day be a great big disappointment.

One day DICE will surprise me but like every other organization there needs to be culture change from within and as they say "old habits die hard".

Additionally, if they are making this game appealing to Battlefield fans (despite what they say) that will end up being another great disaster and ****ing of Star Wars gamers.

Like great tasting dishes, the quality of the ingredients and simplicity shines above some over complicated, mish mash that doesn't end up capturing your imagination. The same applies here.
 
Looks like we might be playing BF4 for quite some time then boys :D Hope there is a beta so we can play this for ourselves.
