**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

I must say it all looks very underwhelming, game looks to have serious lack of depth and looks far too arcadey for my liking.
I enjoy me some cod every now and then so im not adverse to some arcade shooting, more than anything thought im not liking the 3rd person view in a game such as this.
Keen to play the beta before forming a proper opinion.

That's not good for many people as there won't be EA servers in their region, but at least its not P2P rubbish!

Anyway, you're not seriously eyeing this game up from a competitive standpoint are you? O_o

That's true but it's not P2P which is what most people would assume when you state no dedis. Clearly it's not great but certainly not a train wreck either.

In saying that I just watched all the game play videos and it still looks meh!

It's also bugging me as well. Apparently they spent months looking at all the props and locations to ensure they nailed every detail....they just didn't watch the films.

This is re-defining poverty with each new video and reveal. The hero gameplay looks 10 times worse than in Jedi Outcast multiplayer. I'm not slamming Jedi Outcast at all... just that I'd expect something better these days. This game is pure console oriented rubbish that's an utter waste of the licence. I hope I'm wrong but the more I hear and see of it the more it irritates me in how pedestrian and unimaginative it is. I have always been holding out hope for an updated X-Wing franchise type game although when this is all they can dream of doing with the licence then I'm as well giving up hope that we'll ever see a modern X-Wing type game. /rant

Moviebattles II has the best lightsaber gameplay by a long shot. I stopped buying EA & Dice games a long time ago as they are now just feel console orientated & rushed. Wish they would have kept Bad Company on consoles and Battlefield on PC, but all they see is a quick cash in nowadays. Isn't it also time for 128 player servers!

At about 1 hour 5 mins into that stream Vader gets used, didn't seem to sound like him all that much with the quote he said.

Looks kinda cheesy how they appear as well. Would have though Vader would show on a shuttle and Luke a speeder or x-wing.
 
Still looks bad to me... a real shame... what a waste of the license

It'll still sell absolutely millions of copies guaranteed before it even releases though so as far as EA are concerned they've hooked up another cash-cow to the milking machine... Good job everybody
