**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

I'm not a BF fan, but think the nature of the weapons in SW will make for a better game. Less automatic bullet spam, more twitchy reaction based aiming. It may even require the ability to track a target :eek:

Plus SW - that makes it an insta buy regardless!

Also i've heard game will use pbr rendering.

The long wait is finally over. Game developer EA announced late last week that the highly anticipated 'Star Wars Battlefront' video game will be showcased on April 16 to coincide with the Star Wars Celebration that will take place next month in Anaheim, California. The actual release date is still set during the Christmas season later this year.

Physically based rendering. It's mostly for the artists working with an engine to have a better pipeline in achieving the sort of complex scenes they want to, with all kinds of fancy lighting and reflective effects. Which doesn't necessarily mean you would get a better looking game as an end user just for PBR being used, as the same results can be achieved without it. However freeing up an artists work flow in practical terms, does lead to better looking games.

Based on how they have handled hardline I think EA are capable of changing release dates for the better of the game given the issues faced during the launch of BF4. I also think the BF4 CTE have made many improvements to the engine which should be ported directly into next iteration of frostbite.

I'm sure they realize what is at stake here - there will be some serious nerd rage if they screw this up!
 
I pray to every single fake deity out there that it is NOT BF reskinned. But it's EA and DICE, what could go wrong.. :(

They better still have that board game strategy game type thing in it, they better still have space fights, and most importantly, I HOPE like the originals you can all do it single player.. (oh and NO SEASON PASSES OR MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!)

If not, mark my words, EA will witness HELL!! I shall make sure each and everyone of them have atleast 15 fingers and toes cut off, mass castration, and the end of the world as those (potentially evil) involved know it

It's a AAA title - they will use an 'aggressive' DLC strategy for sure. If the game lives up to the movie franchise (which is almost an impossible task) then who cares?
 
It will have a season pass after how well BF3 & 4 Premium have sold. If the DEC is good and varied I don't mind. It's the way of the future, embrace it!

j/k but I've little doubt there will be DLC at a hefty price, but I do hope they learnt a few lessons as this is probably the first Battlefield game I've looked forward too for a long time.
