Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order (Respawn Entertainment)

Watched some of the stream, look very linear and repetitive, maybe it's the stream but the scenery/models look horrible :(
 
Seems I may have made the right move and dodged a bullet. Certainly not in a rush to play this now :p

Rule of thumb, if Poneros bigs a game up too much, there is something wrong with it. Lol.
 
So what is this game? Any RPG in it? I saw a souls like tag on steam and was surprised. It’s not just walk here kill that watch cut scene rinse and repeat is it?
 
I'm so glad I've been watching a stream, I was so hyped for this game off the back of trailers alone, but seeing it being played. It looks awful

Graphics are bad and the gameplay...it looks very similar to Dark Souls with lightsabers, and there's a reason I've avoided Dark Souls since the first, I just don't like it

Such a shame :(
 
Played about an hour and a half - seems really good so far. Characters are interesting, graphics are good, plot seems interesting so far, combat is fluid and fun, and I've liked the RPG elements I've seen so far.
 
Its "ok" so far for me. Feels like its just a generic action rpg but star wars. So far everything in it has been done before elsewhere (and often done better)....will play a bit more.

Doesn't look anywhere near as good as the old JK games tbh. It's a shame the old devs like Raven got destroyed by the likes of EA. Close to 2 decades later, things have not moved on except with graphics :/

The game will be forgotten in a few months.

There are very few really good games coming out these days. Witcher 3, RDR2 raised the bar in recent years. Some lesser known games like Prey were good. But the big publishers just pump out trash.

Just watched some gameplay and think it looked great. Combat looks fun, sounds authentic, looks great. Very tempted. The first 30 minutes look brilliant and it’s meant to open up significantly. I’ll wait for a few reviews.

2.5 hours in, still really like it, if anything it got better as I've been playing. Not really sure why people are thinking it's bad.

The only issue I'm having is stuttering when it loads a new area in as you run around which I'm guessing just needs a patch or I need to install those new Nvidia drivers that got released the other day.

Edit: Updated to the newest Nvidia drivers, and no more stuttering.

How optimised is the game? As an example Gears 5 is very optimised and run 4K 60fps and looked great on my Vega 56.
 
runs pretty well for me on 1080 @ 1440p

only played about 30 mins but enjoying it so far.. graphics are good... combat is fine but you do have to skill up to get more skill moves.. had to drag myself away to go to bed.
 
It's fun but at the moment still a little bit Linear. There's more scope to explore at the bit I'm at but the first tutorial section is quite fun. Reminds me of a mix of Dark Souls and Tomb Raider.
