Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

I have no idea why people pre-order video games in this digital age, it's utter madness as there is no incentive whatsoever.

The game is absolutely fine  I've played for several hours, there's the occasional bit of screen tear but no bugs, crashes and a solid story. I see no reason at all this is getting review bombed

Fallen Order was never a great PC Port anyway so this is just more of the same for me. It had so many stutter issues that were so annoying to an otherwise excellent game and I'm sure Survivor is as well, the framerate was okay for the most part except in some scenes on some planets.

It is one of the reasons I am holding off until it gets patched as I am sick of paying over 40£ on games that either don't get support afterwards, or do but many weeks later, at that point the game is probably priced lower, because your paying for premium product but getting something that has quality issues in the hopes they fix it later. If this how it is now then it's no deal for me.

I only get about 55% gpu usage when running 4k. Is this common for others?

My 4090 is only pulling 200w.
think it's only using 4 cpu cores at the moment, which is why cpu usage is reported as low yet it's still holding up the cards.

I've heard restarting it can improve things or changing resolution and restarting too, which is contradictory to the above, so who knows.

Yep, same here and been playing for hours already. 4K Freesync, HDR on, , FSR quality, all epic settings apart from motion blur, film grain and chromatic aberation off. It runs well and plays well for me so far. Will of course see how it progresses but really not seeign any game breaking bugs or performance at all. From a lot of the posts in this thread you would think they released some utterly broken crap. I was genuinely confused that it rans so well for me.

Far too much hyperbole on AAA PC releases these days. Some are genuinely poorly optimised (Elden Ring and Calisto Protocol), but I would hardly say broken. Broken implies unusable, or not fit for purpose. Flawed, bugged is not the same as broken.

That video shows a guy playing the game then declaring it broken. You literally just showed it working you moron.

Games unlocked, I've only had time to check it runs. But looks like it might still need a few patches, PC controls either aren't defaulted correctly or not fully implemented, certain buttons on the load/options screen don't respond to mouse clicks and you need to use the enter button/keyboard shortcuts to activate them. The UI's probably tuned to gamepad. On high settings the game does look amazing but I'm getting a fair amount of stutter, this might just be assets streaming in/or shaders compiling, the FPS was fluctuating anywhere from 75FPS down mid 50's in fairly rapid succession.

I'll have more time to look at the game this evening, but I'll probably hold off any extended session until the games had a patch or 3. Not really a problem for me I want to finish HZD2 and it's DLC before I start playing this.
By the way, raytracing is bugged and is off even if you think it's on. You have toggle it off and on again in the menu for it to apply properly and of course it tanks performance even further.

Same, Fallen Order looks a lot better in HDR, I was playing it last night.

Only just played the opening scene but once you break out into the more open areas its ******** the bed quite a lot. 5120x1440, epic settings, RT off, FSR 2 on. Between 50-70 fps on my now rather modest 3090/I9900k/32gb ram, lots of stuttering as reported. Will probably have to faff with some settings later when I play properly. Oh well, back to work.

Considering the requirements to run this game and the eating of Vram I would expect it to look a lot better, its hardly an upgrade IQ wise from Fallen Order. To my old eyes at least.
I feel the same way and actually Fallen Order performance was pretty decent at the time of release in terms of framerate, the stuttering was what let it down but at least it wasn't totally broken.

Will give it a go again in a minute but this time maybe on high settings with only textures maxed out and will restart the game after applying them as suggested here.
Maybe will record video as well.
