Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

From what I’ve seen the map is much more open meaning a lot more needs to be shown. The prequel was very much limited by previous gen consoles. Maybe they’ve bitten off more than they can chew?
Maybe but at the beginning you don't see any of that and the performance is really bad. I don't understand how games can be released in a state like this.
It only puts people off and turns others to piracy.

Yeah it does not run great.

12900k, 4090, 32gb ram - @ 3440x1440 with FSR on quality i get between 70-90fps with no raytracing, with ray tracing on it drops under 60 often.

Real shame theres no dlss. I might just wait a while and see if it gets improved before playing it, actually looks lovely right enough wtihout RT

The game has some weird bugs, one of which steals a lot of performance.

Wanna know what it is? The game needs to be restarted after you change any graphics settings, trust me.
After you restart the game when you changed a setting, it will recompile and this has a massive impact on GPU usage.

For example, I can enable the Ultra preset, then restart the game and put up RTSS and see I'm getting 90fps with 100% GPU usage at 4k. Then I go into the menu turn ray tracing off and jump out the menu and now I'm getting 65fps with 70% GPU usage, then I enable ray tracing again and I'm still getting 65fps with 70% usage. Then i restart the game and it's back to 90fps with 100% usage. This issue also happens when testing the FSR settings or even just messing with HDR toggles. The game should recompile everytime you change a graphics setting but it doesn't happen, it will only recompile on a restart.

So yeah, you have to restart the game after everytime you change any graphics settings otherwise you will lose as much as 50% performance
I saw people saying the get low GPU usage with a RTX4090, but once I figured out how this bug works - I get 90% to 100% usage on my RTX4090 at 4k with a 7950x CPU.

Some help needed urgently, I am at my wits end with this crap!

Game is on a 5900X, 32GB 3600 DDR4, RTX 4080, 4K with HDR on. I am running all settings epic with RT on and FSR 2 on quality and the game runs perfectly fine within monitors Freesync range. I don't have an FPS counter but can tell the game runs perfectly smoothly. Also with some adjustments (brightness 40 and blackpoint 25), that HDR looks OK.

What am I doing wrong because obvioulsy the game should be runing like crap, as it does for everyone else. According to some of the hyperbole on here it should also look no better than the original game and have dips to as low as 60 FPS at 4K. Yet mine has higher res textures and higher poly models every where I look and I can see a big improvement in visuals.

Asking for a friend.

(Sarcasm aside, it runs perfectly fine for me but then again I don't complain because a game dips to as low as 50 FPS at 4K).

Same as my experience :)

Performance does seem to improve once of the first planet.

This is obviously a very good game but I think they missed a huge opportunity by not implementing a detailed weapon/gear stat RPG system, which would have pushed this to another level imho.

Maybe its me but I cant get excited about exploring the maps just to find mostly cosmetic stuff. I mean you cant even really see the saber changes clearly unless you go to the workbench anyway.

It dips into low 40 for me at times but I only tried the beginning and will wait for it to be patched.
I haven't tried restarting the game after changing settings so it could be the bug @Grim5 mentioned as it put me off from playing it for now.

I'm not even touching this I don't even have good enough Internet to download the game! 120gb what on earth....come on now.

It was a 130gb download for me and took about 5 and a half minutes, I feel for you man, hopefully you can get fibre someday. Have you considered starlink if you live rural?

it is playable, its not the utter mess people are saying, ill give it a go at 4k after lunch and see how it compares to 3440x1440.

Its ones of the games that does feel smooth at 60 on pc, you get games that feel choppy at that ,but i have seen drops into the late 50's with RT and fsr quality.

Theres also a bit of occasional stutter from UE4.
