Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

I don't use it to change settings, more out of curiosity to see what the green machine thinks should be used lol. I use GFE for game recordings and other stuff though hence why I use the app which is quite useful for that. And to be notified the moment a new driver is out.

Yeah GE is fantastic for all of that, prefer look and overall ui of amd drivers but in this department, nvidia are miles ahead imo.

Also with regards to the RT on vs off

Can't see a difference tbh

:p :D

But yeah aside from puddles/water scenes, RT doesn't add a great deal of difference although some of the lighting parts with GI at the start of the game were very nice. I'm still holding of on playing as thanks to amd, they have decided for me that FSR is what works best for my hardware........ :o

RT on with FSR Performance appears to be not too bad so far btw, this is at the 1.75x DLDSR res! 85fps indoors and 50-60 ish outside in Koboh main area by Pyloon's

More because I can without fps sacrifice than anything else :p

Still think 3440x1440 is more than fine but this game only has janky FSR so I do value some decent AA that isn't FSR here.

Anyways, here's what DLDSR @ 1.75x gives, the lack of CPU and GPU optimisation at /any/ setting as per DF's video shows, is more evident the higher the resolution you go. it really is not acceptable. And then there's a traversal stutters as you reach the invisible compilation point in any given area...

I love that you’d already opened the shortcut but decided ‘nah, I want to do all the climbing again.

had my first massive FPS drop on landing on Jedda. 12FPS for around 30 seconds or so. First really tank I’ve had.

Drops to 50 suck so bad though, when playing on 60hz vsynced TV every drop is noticeable :(
Stupid developers not optimizing their games properly..

I do however see this with RT off

This is flatout broken, seriously Respawn are just shameless. Now look at water in e.g. RDR2, which also uses no RT but looks nextgen compared to this broken mess.

So annoyed with this game in that if you don't do things a certain way you are basically stuck and cannot progress and simply must reload the last save by exiting to the main menu (the only way).

Alignment Control area when you go down the lift platform in Koboh:

YFor me the trigger does not happen and the enemies do not enter through the currently locked doorway. I youtubed it and for others that doorway is a trigger point which openes it up and you battle them, yet for me I must have missed doing something before entering that area and now the trigger never happens. It's not a main objective area so won't break progress, but it is a side mission that I can now no longer do for whatever reason

Moldy Depths:
Another side mission in Koboh, you MUST enter the cave with a Nekko, if you do not then you simply cannot escape once in there as there is a platform of height that only a Nekko jump allows you to reach. Again, must exit to main menu and reload the last save which might be a distance away

Those are the immediate two off the top of my head so bound to be others.

FSR performance.....

Difference is the time it would have taken them to get results as good as rdr 2, with rt, devs simply aren't going to spend the same time anymore now as we move more in to rt. Also rdr 2 has a lot of those issues in the swamp area. But yeah overall it is one of the best for SSR.

Look at my recent screenshots though in the other thread! Those were with it on, it's no DLSS, but it does seem to be useful with the current state of the game lol.

Ok, seems nvidia to the rescue yet again with their premium paid for features

Using same res. as you @mrk and FSR performance does look much better than native 3440x1440 and fsr quality and fps is similar too, however..... it can't fix the **** show of fsr when in motion and particles etc. :( Still a big improvement though.

Fsr performance looks better than fsr quality?

It makes logical sense it works that way yeah since you're telling the game to output a higher than native resolution (in this case 1.75x of 3440x1440) which means the internal render will be lower (but still higher than the internal render res if you were telling the game to output a 3440x1440 image) - And coupled with upscaler's Performance mode, the output image matches or exceeds what would otherwise be native + upscaler Quality mode because the reconstructed image was working with a higher internal render image.

2.25x DLDSR would also work and it does, but the optimisation of the engine means much bigger fps drops when the game does suffer from those traversal stutter areas and whatnot, whereas 1.75x is manageable for most GPUs that are alf decent. The CPU is largely meaningless because the engine isn't optimised to make use of more cores/threads as DF's videos talked about.

That base underground on Jedha really is quite stunning and massive :o

Also I had RT on when flying back there to give my findings to Cordova and just as the ship was about to land the game crashed. RT + Jedha = Not a good time.

23 hours in... So far so good. The platforming - like the first game - is becoming long in the tooth but I'm enjoying the game as a whole. The combat though difficult is entertaining and the force powers are a lot of fun. Who needs combat skill when you can push the monster off the ******* cliff :) I like the characters and the game has a great sense of immersion. I especially love the cantina and all the little extra mechanics involved.
