State of RT today. Is it usuable?

All esport players are bat crap crazy then. Notice how the GPU segment crashed for them also what was it 30% ish? Nvidia are not only arrogant they are so deluded they lie to themselves.

The only reason they get away with it is because the competition is incompetant. They are in trouble if AMD ever catch up.

Usain Bolt used to say the same!

Lisa su says the same stuff for amd

If a ceo didn’t back their company like a fanboy/girl they would get fired - their job is to be the biggest cheerleader for their company and anyone who has worked with or dealt with a ceo for a large company will already know this to be the case. Often the ceo doesn’t really get to make many decisions, most of the real company direction and nitty gritty stuff is done by the board of directors - the CEO is basically a cheerleader

i watched a video from linus tech tips where he reviewed an 8k tv/montior.

he did begrudingly mention that nvidia's raytracing is the way forwards as an increase in sharpness only goes so far.

This guy thinks so :p

NVIDIA CEO Says It’s Crazy To Buy A GPU Without Ray Tracing In 2019, Imlpying GeForce RTX A Better Purchase Than AMD Radeon RX

i must admit though haveing ray tracing as a feature is allways better then not having it all. i say that becouse ive had my 2080ti for a few weeks tried bf5 and metro for a little while and turned it off no enough power even on a 2080ti and keep high framerate gaming its a massive trade off for a 2080ti owner do you want eye candy or high fps seeing my 2080ti bearly keep above 60 70 fps at 1440p is depressing. but my only experiance is with the top nvidia gpu and not mid range it must be next to usless on 2070s and 2070 and 2060.

ray tracing is the future i also feel some good stuff to come from it and when the hardware is acctully there i can see it adding such depth to games in lighting and shadows and explsions and all the toehr good stuff it can acctully do but atm its undercooked and i feel like a beta tester and paid for the privlage

I don't think anyone with a clue seriously doubts that ray tracing is the future. It has been known for many years before the RT series came out.

probably not great on a 2060 but a 2070 super when overclocked likely to be ok. Metro on ultra 4k settings with RTX on high and DLSS on is great on my 2080
