Steam Frame (Valve Index 2)

Yea if your willing to wait. As i said, if its anything like when the steam deck first launched, its going to be extremely difficult to get on launch day 1.

Dont forget, Steam hasnt even given a release or a pre order date for it.

Obviously it would be amazing if steam had a very smoooth trouble free launch typically you would see from the likes of Apple mean as long as u manage to put in an order within the first couple of hours of orders opening, you will get it delivered 48h later.

Correct me if i am wrong but the Steam Frame will use RAM right? And with RAM prices being crazy, i suspect this could affect the price of the Steam Frame, unless Valve have already Bought up the RAM components a few months ago when prices were ok?
i thought they had already started production ? if that was the case then hopefully it wont affect it when it hits the ground, only future production, so if they likely do a micro/oled version im sure that will not be as cheap ass it could have been prior to RAM gate !

They are supposed to have 500K headsets in production. And if the price is anywhere above £600 you will have absolutely no problem getting one at launch.

And yes, the Steam Frame uses Ram and internal UFS drive, both of which will be affected by the current shortages. I would say that's probably the main reason why they haven't given a definite price for the Steam Frame or the Steam Machine. The final price will have to take into account the increasing cost of manufacturing going forward.

That's the rumour, yes, that they have already started production. They are unlikely to do a Mirco/Oled version. That will involve almost a complete redesign. It's not as simple as the swapping the displays like in the Steam Deck.

The scalpers and bots will probably get the lions share

Do you think the demand is going to be that high? If it's priced around £500, maybe. If it's priced around the same price as the Index? Can't see there been much problem with getting one.

*unless they have extremely limited numbers at launch.
