I find 3rd person games better with control pad, I played through gta5, tomb raider and I have now just started batman arkham city.

Using home plugs and it works brilliantly

Good to know it works well with homeplugs.

Just boight one with a steam controller from Game with a free case.

Are there any benefits of a Steam link over using a normal desktop machine with Steam running big picture? Aside from the obvious power/size - I'm thinking from the perspective of probably putting a media pc in the lounge anyway!

Not really, it's aimed at people who want to play games on their main PC in another room so that they don't need to have a gaming PC in their living room. Other than having to stick a decent GPU etc in your media PC, if you've got a PC connected to the TV anyway then it's pretty pointless

Well I'd not necessarily be looking at chucking a decent GPU into the media PC, but streaming the same as with the Steam Link. Useful to know it should pretty much match in behaviour though.
Will just come down to whether I bother with the media pc, Raspberry PI for Kodi and a Steam Link is a much cheaper compact option! :)

This is doing my head in at £15.99. I do not need it at all atm but life is always subject to change but it's so damn cheap. Should I pick one up just incase or do I just let this slip by?. I could always sell on MM brand new if it never gets used for near to what I paid.

Choices.......
