That why the Chinese shot ahead.
Why do you think the chinese have shot ahead? None of these treatments have even passed clinical trials, never mind proven.

That's good news. They have been treating broken backs in mice, with stem cells for decades. With almost 100% success rate and an average return of movement above the 80% mark..
It is amazing how such old techniques are only just been approved for trials. However until research is done SC can't be hailed as a miracle cure, in animals it has worked for some illnesses and not others.
I have facebook set up.
thanks.

I hope it works for you. But as someone else has said, before you spend the money and subject yourself to it, you need to do the research and see exactly what it's all about...
You should also set up a just giving website for your funds. More people will donate on a site like that.

What does that have to do with the chinese, are you going to answer questions directly or just link to random stem cell articles?
Most people don't have an account there so can't access it.
No the article on the first link is very important, years ago GW Bush vetoed Stem Cell, the Chinese web sites are down so I cant copy quotes for you, MJ Fox the actor with Parkinson's, made a quote about SC and posted it on the Chinese web site.
Obama has allowed this to happen., those american doctors did nothing for about 5 years, some live in China now
The company gained federal permission this week to inject eight to 10 patients with cells derived from embryonic cells, said Dr. Thomas Okarma, president and CEO of Geron Corp. of Menlo Park, Calif.
Well now your making no sense whatsoever.

He has an incurable disease, he doesn't have to justify his posts to you...
These stem cell trials are all black box, but when they work the results can be quite remarkable. There isn't good data on success rates - but hey, any chance is better than no chance.
The Chinese are generally a bit crap at research without supervision, but they are doing the trials, and so its worth a shot if there are not other options. Once the trials in the US pick up we'll see some real advances as far as turning this into a reliable therapy (which I strongly believe it will be in 20 years time).
Go for it and good luck (just make sure they are real stem cells and not liposuction fat mixed with melamine...).
the Chinese website is down so I cant post links .
George Arruda had 6 Umbilical cord Stem Cell
George's cousin Richard McNeil has been to China twice, I know several people who've been, I'm asking the doctors to copy the Chinese, as yet they ignore me.
The Manchester Lord Mayor had 6 stem cells now shes OK.
why don't we copy the Chinese, the Chinese have been doing SC for 8 + years now.
As others have said, we have slightly tighter safety regulations - not to mention the ethics thing.
There's a cost-benefit calculation for which there is still insufficient data. Doctors are less willing to spend money and time on a treatment that has a 10% success rate, whilst the Chinese will not tell you a true failure rate by and large. There is also a long term issue about exactly what is being injected and how safe it will be ten years down the line.
From your point of view I'm sure that any improvement would be welcome, but the legal responsibilities that doctors assume on treatment make them far more risk averse. They need to be sure that it is safe and worth the money, and people will not turn around and sue if they develop complications years down the line (as has happened before in other cases).
I think that stem cell approaches have genuinely strong potential - they could be the best technology since heart bypass. Its probably worth the risk to go to China - and yes it needs a lot more research focus in the US and UK.
I think privateer is a bot you know, just keeps posting link after link ignoring what everyone says, irrelevant as they are.

He's just quoted someone and responded specifically to something they've said.

Where? All I can see is quoting and then posting some success story without responding to the person. What did Audreys story have to do with health and safety regulations in the UK?
