It was in relation to the xfx 7800gtx order they cancelled ages ago lol, i put a webnote on yesterday and they only just replied, i knew anyone because they told me by email.
 
Its pretty obvious that you are doing everything you can to remedy the situation Gibbo, I think most can see that.

I wonder if it is good shop policy to make multiple posts on the forums basically saying "get your orders in now or you will miss out" though?

Its bound to create a short term "buying frenzy" where this sort of confusion is almost certain to arise.

Looking at the prices the goods went for they would still have sold out in a couple of days anyway and there wouldn't have been such a huge "rush" to buy all in the matter of a few hours.

Of course, if you needed to clear warehouse space quickly for new stock arrival I see your quandary.

Also when these items start to filter through to customers and inevitably some of the B grade stuff is fubared (just being realistic here, it is B grade stuff and some "fallouts" are to be expected) its going to be hard to stop people moaning even more in a "shop talk" thread if the thread was started by an ocuk employee.

All of above is just my humble opinion and based on the fact I am also jealous of some of the good deals ocuk had going. :p
 
Just called ocuk and apparently all the b-grade and clearance stuff is gone, is this true? I mean, the website says otherwise and I'm confused about what to believe now since I thought the stock system was fixed and I swear there's some video cards on clearance now that were not on clearance two hours ago.

Yeah you convinced me gibbo saying get the 7800gtx, they will go you wont get another chance, I come on next morning to find a far better gtx model with with much better clocks, try and buy that to no avail then I see some guy who ordered a 7800gt gets his upgraded to the card i wanted.
I'm still happy granted this gtx works, but the xfx model was far better at the same price and your buy it now it will be gone soon never to come again convinced me to buy the ocuk model, if I had known there was an xfx coming in then I would have definetly bought that.

I ordered at 7:30 and just got a refund! :eek:

Atleast I assume I have, I haven't heard anything from OcUK.

That's how I feel a bit even though I obviously missed all the graphics card stuff, mostly because I had to call to find out that my second order had been cancelled rather than getting an email about it. Oddly a number of things that I ordered in that second order are still showing as available in the b-grade section.
even though it's updated every 15 minutes? :confused:

edit: apart from the order cancellation and the site confusion though, I'm very pleased, I might finally be able to get a decent ADSL router :)

I gotta admit I'm struggling to understand how the orders got processed, my order for the 7800GT that was placed an hour and a half before Armadillo was just cancelled this morning, seems to me pretty much everyone else got upgraded. Took a phone call to find out it had been cancelled and to get a promise of a 7800GT which if true will be fantastic (I aren't bothered about getting an upgrade, how the hell can I be I mean a 7800GT for this price is an awesome deal anyway!). I just don't understand why there's this discrepancy in how orders seem to have been treated. I'm sure we'll all be a lot wiser come Monday afternoon anyway.....

i also just rang and spoke to chris, he told me that everything had been sold out of b grade and clearance, this can't be true can it?!?, and just an hour before i spoke to chris i spoke to phil regarding some ram pricing in the b grade section and he told me it was being updated and the new price would be up in a few minutes, still the price is the same and theres loads of stock in the b grade and clearance, what a mess wth is going on. :confused: . Prehaps the sales team has been told to say this to customers till they can sort out the whole fiasco

Limited availability will make sure the 7800GT hold there price even with these b-grade offers mate.At least i hope so :D
