Street Fighter 6 coming with "immersive" single player mode (2023)

I bought a cheap stick from a recent hukd deal, but have nothing i wanna play with it atm. Tried the demo of this and wasn’t impressed with the open world part. Can that be skipped entirely without missing out on the main character stories?

Yes it can

kinda chuffed tbh

The more I play this game I realise that Ryu isn't very good at all. Don't think I won a single set tonight as everyone else is using characters that just out poke me or just have nonsense which is safe on block.

Ok, got into Silver painlessly but had to block a couple of wifi warriors along the way.

Some of the stuff these guys do is just hilarious:P

I think I'll plateau in Silver for a while till I clean up some combos and get better muscle memory.
I make way too many mistakes when dealing with stuff.

DI is not a problem so far, they try that repeatedly and mostly die for it, I eat one sometimes and I ate a couple on 3bar wifi but usually I can react to it.

Silver is fitting for a 2d noob so happy with that, if I actually start using practice mode maybe I'll get better before T8 lands and I'm out:P

As you move up the ranks DI becomes less used. Better players soon realised that you can't just YOLO DI all the time. Though you do fight the odd player who didn't get the memo and throws out DI's at every opportunity

I think the character I hate fighting the most in this game is Manon, partly because I don't know what I'm doing against her but also that level 5 throw damage!!

Followed closely by Jamie, again not knowing the matchup

Her throw damage is the reason why I wanna learn her. I’m pants with combos so this character would suit me.

Yeah, Kimberly is a walking knowledge check with her neutral-skipping tools. Had some problems with one yesterday, apart from trying to jab her out of her mist I don't really know much else yet.

It was also most likely a better player on their alt as most Silver players I've met so far can't really do much either so surprisingly I'm still climbing despite being utter trash at 2d.

Most JPs in Silver are especially fun once they discover that someone can react to the command grab and more or less knows how to advance through the projectiles, one backed himself up in a corner, crouched and started jabbing incessantly:P Ate a 15 hit combo into level 3 so slooowly getting more comfortable with 2d execution as well:D Will probably hit a wall somewhere in upper Silver.

The only annoying thing is that I have to press counter DI with my pinky when I'm reacting to it and it's a bit uncomfortable, last button in the upper row on the stick and that's still the most sensible option.

I actually started practicing some necessary stuff in training mode today, some options are super convenient. Hope I'll get better at some point.

JP isn't so bad once you can recognize what each of his projectiles are. a lot of moves will go straight through them so you can knock him down and then move in.

I think the cheapest character in the game is Honda! Sumo Headbutt from far, Sumo Headbutt for anti air, OD Heatbutt through fireballs. Sumo Press if you decide to jump and his heavy punch is also another great anti air. You can walk straight into Diamond with just those moves!

Oh yeah, Honda... thankfully, haven't fought him much yet:p

The safest option of just blocking is actually the most convenient for him as no one will perfect parry that consistently and he can bait out a DI, same with Blanka balls I think, though for ecample Jamie can get free drinks of off a blocked one IIRC:p Pushing Honda towards the corner helps as he isn't so safe anymore.

Super annoying moves, both the press and headbutt. Come to think of it I know why I haven't fought many Hondas yet, they're just chilling in Diamond headbutting people:D

Yeah problem with just blocking is they drain your drive guage, I think headbutt is the same but once blocked Blanka balls drains I full drive guage block! Pretty silly considering its near as dammit safe. Then you've also gotta contend with light punch ball into through!

I'm currently stuck in Platinum with my Guile and I haven't fought too many Blanka's or Honda's so my knowledge of them isn't the best either but as you say I honestly think they just Headbutted and Rolled their way into Diamond and above :p

Nuff said:cry:

This video is basically everything we've just said about Honda. Straight into Diamond from placement matches using mainly Headbutt and basically no knowledge about how to use the character other than headbutt is good! :p

Unlocked young Ryu and Ken. Ah so much better with their original outfits. Also got Chun li.

Can unlock rest pretty quickly now in world tour mode. Only interested in the core fighters plus DeeJay and Cammy. Couldn't care less about the rest.
