Street Fighter 6 coming with "immersive" single player mode (2023)

I got to ask, how easy is this game to get into?
I've been binge watching matches and just looks fantastic, even though I can't tell what's going on.

I'm really tempted to pick up this game just to have a go, though I do worry about my aging reaction times.
I bought a capcom bundle that was cheap the other day, but I'm really struggling to play with an Xbox controller.
Can anyone recommend a cheap'ish fighting stick just to see if I can do this?
I'd argue as far as fighting games go it's pretty easy to get into thanks to modern controls that simplify things.
I've not looked at sticks in years so can't really recommend anything im afraid but I wouldn't get a stick if think it would give you an advantage over pads like it older fighting games but if your more used to a stick, spent your youth in arcades etc then stick are definately more fun imo.
Leverless controllers offer the best advantage though due their precision with directions and buttom layout.

Fighting sticks are kinda pointless for sf6. Series X pads are good.
I wouldn't say they are pointless as it depends where you are coming from. I can play fighting games for **** with a pad and have always preferred a stick as its what I'm used to.
Xbox pads have the worst d-pad going...

Yeh depends. Using a stick doesn't give you the advantages something like sf4 did and inputs are generally simple. Drive impact and parry is generally simpler on a pad compared to stick, especially if you have a 6 button stick.

If you can use a pad I'd say stay with that, unless you're a die hard stick player. I started on stick went to hitbox then back to pad personally.

I have an Xbox one controller and I really don't like the Dpad on it. Going diagonal doesn't feel very good.
I have heard that the series X controllers are better though, so might look into those.
Also, I kinda find it wierd using the shoulder buttons or triggers for heavy attacks.

Can't recall what the Xbox one d-pad is like but the Series X controllers definately don't have a d-pad I want to use. The only pads I've ever really liked for fighting games are Sega Saturn pads, 6 face buttons and the best d-pads in the business :)

I bought the game and started watching a load of videos on controllers and what have you. Saw that people are now using leverless controllers, which kinda blew my mind, but also saw a guy using a keyboard, so I've been giving it a go.
It's not as bad as I thought it would be, I can quite reliably pull off Zangiefs 360. :p

So much to learn though. I can see the benefits of a controller, having buttons for drive parry and impact are a big plus. I'm using WASD with parry as shift and impact as space bar which seems to work o.k.

Leverless is just a more ergonomic keyboard, so if you're getting on with keyboard I would strongly recommend getting a leverless.

Something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007166839132.html

Can't go wrong for £27, and Haute 42 is a very well established brand.

Gotta say I'm tempted to try something like that.
Only complaint is that I would like a button for my left pinkie finger. Quite used to using that for parry.

Now that is tempting.
Gotta say though, starting to feel my age. I'm still working through tutorials and some of the stuff they ask you to do makes my fingers hurt.
Haha what do you mean? Like inputs for combos?

SF6 is quite execution friendly, though it depends on the character. You'll get it with time. This is my first fighting game and now I can do all of Marisa's max damage combos. What character are you focusing on?

If you want to add me on Steam I can invite you to a good discord for SF6 - we run weekly tournaments that are open to all skill levels and it's generally active and friendly. I can also talk you through some stuff to get you started, I feel like I'm pretty good at helping beginners

A note about Haute controllers though - if you want to play on PS5 you do need to buy their Booter adapter for £25 to get around PlayStations authorization

I'm trying to learn Zanfief, I've always enjoyed watching grapplers.
Trying the combo trials and I'm stuck on 1.
Need to do a flying Headbutt then a OD Borscht Dynamite. It's proving taxing!

I've changed my settings now so that space bar is my jump button, I'm struggling to make the change.

I could be interested in that discord you mention, I could definitely use some beginner tips.

I'm gonna be honest... Zangief is the worst character to pick as a new player. UNLESS you decide to play modern - which is totally valid.

360s, and especially 720s are NOT easy. Especially on leverless. It's gonna take you a long time to learn to just do the supers by themselves. Which is time you could've spent learning to actually fight people. Unless you're a Zangief enthusiast and willing to put in the hours, I would strong recommend either picking modern for 1 button SPDs/level 3 or picking a different character - then coming back to Zangief later.

Do you happen to know which AliExpress arcade controllers with a stick are worth looking at?

I'm learning Third Strike at the moment and am finding my xbox360 controller pretty unsuitable

Not sure about Aliexpress sticks with a lever, but I know Mayflash are good brand for lever controllers. They do a mega cheap version with unbranded buttons (F300) and then higher end models with Sanwa levers and buttons (F700)

Cheap buttons are usable but I would definitely get something with a branded lever like Sanwa

Look for something that has Sanwa or Seimitsu buttons and stick. Personally I Seimitsu buttons as they are ever so slightly firmer to press and the use a Seimitisu ls-32 stick over the generally recommended Sanwa JLF
