Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Why would he say it's the best version?

Graphics, load times, easier to capture footage from, no XBL gold required and the online play felt better to me, but maybe that is just because more people use wired connections on PC.

Have you improved the net code for the PC release of SSF4 AE? — Jin

Svensson: I believe the netcode is largely the same. There's some extra care around the match making and a few tweaks to match people with appropriate benchmark machines but not wildly different from the console.

Also, more people have their PCs connected via wired connections via wireless than would be the case on consoles, which can often improve latencies 20 - 30ms by itself in addition to fewer dropped packets (which can really muck up your experience), all other things being equal.

Anyone getting some strange lag on the PC version?

Yeah I think everyone is. Ranked is apparently broken right now and it looks like we'll have to wait for a fix from Capcom.

Endless seems pretty stable though, I played about 2 hours of smooth matches last night.

I'm pretty bad at this game still, but damn it's still good fun .

Jumped on the PC version last night....

My god what a stark difference.... the menus are so much quicker and getting into games is MILES better than the PS3 version.

PC version all the time now!

Yes there was some spikes in lag during play but Im sure that will be fixed.

Also is it me or does the PC version look a little more lush with max AA etc than the PS3 version?

That is good to know. I tried playing ranked last night and opponents looked to have good connects suddenly dropped to having awful connections.

On PC version, it has been discovered that the problem is when doing endless and ranked vs random players the lag spikes exist because of the game polling people for matchmaking too often (or something), so if you play with friends it seems fine. I played Robbie and we didn't have a single lag spike across 10+ games!

Purchased, please leave your steam name so I can add you as a friend, I need more players to play against, Dudley sucks. :D
