Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Makes me angry that they took him to Capcom Cup, he takes awkward to a new level. Fword is a decent commentator though. I would much rather listen to Ken Bogard ramble on in French than listen to Logan.

The US commentators are far better than the "UK" (read: london only, along with the idiotic slang) ones, except for skisonic. He shouldn't be allowed near a mic.

i cant stand any of the uk (aka london) commentary, shouting out random rubbish like brah and rago repeated is really annoying. whenever they are on along with zhi, possibly the only person to speak more crap than tyson fury, i will just mute the stream.

Any better for people after the server maintenance? I went on casual earlier and got 5 games in reasonably quick time. Two of the fights had terrible lag, but I persevered. Then got owned by an R Mika player. :)

Hey guys, thinking about getting this. Can't decide between PC and PS4.

I have an X360 fightstick that should work with the PC version (so that would save me a lot of money over buying a new stick just for the PS4) but I was wondering about this crossplay business. Is the PC version decent and does the crossplay function work well? I want to be able to play some PS4 mates with no issues and I don't want to have to wait months for updates like on the PC version of SF4.

So far each version has had the patch download at the same time and this theoretically has to continue because they use the same servers for online matches.
Cross-play itself is fine provided the usual rules for online gaming are followed. (decent net, wired connection etc)
If you have a PC that can power it, it will be a no brainer £23 Vs £40+Stick.
The only real issue is that you cannot easily, send or receive salty hate mail....

Never go pc unless it's fps.
Yes you'd think the pc has to have the same level of support and patches but whos to say capcom wont just disable cross play and get lazy with the pc patches.

Can anyone conform if my ps360 stick will work with ps4 version?

You mean a stick with the PS360+ board in it?

Pretty much the same platform these days. PS4 & Xbox Ones are all on PC architecture now.
Whilst Dimps are still making the game I doubt Capcom will F it up.

Just purchased this for ~£23 for PC and I just had my first ever game online in ranked.

I've not been into training mode yet, I've never played this before, I don't even know what V trigger is but I just gave this guy a whooping with Ryu. I was just playing as though it was SF4 - even tried focus cancelling through fireballs :o and I think I was parrying them!? Was fun anyway, look forward to playing some of you guys soon. :)

It's no surprise, they really make sure you are matched against the very worst players for your first 10 or so ranked matches.

I won my first 5 only using fierce punch! Lost the 6th doing that :(

Yeah that's what I originally meant, should have been more clearer on that sorry.

It will work in PS3/legacy mode with a DS4 controller attached paired to it. There has been reports of input lag using this, and Mr Wizard banned legacy from Evo this yr.
PS4 mode will time out after 8mins, in which you have to soft reset it. (there is a button combination you can press I believe)

other options:

Buy a Brook USB 360 to PS4 converter and force the PS360+ into Xbox 360 mode.
Buy a Brook USB PS3 to PS4 converter and force the PS360+ into PS3 mode.

swap out the PS360+ for a Brook universal Fightboard. very similar design as the PS360+ but with PS4 support.

Sounds like I am promoting brook, but their boards / converters are the only ones on the market that work with PS4 atm, AFAIK.

CronusMAX as well - Haven't read into the Brooks but I have used the Cronus with my PS3 tournament edition without a hicup on my PS4 since Guilty Gear Xrd came out.

It will also work for all consoles/pc not just one specifically.

A lot of people were moaning at the time saying it does not work on PS4...it does they just weren't doing it correctly :D No lag and I actually am using it for SF5 instead of legacy mode as it does feel a bit laggy when using the built in driver same as Skullgirls did.

I owned a Cronus which I used before updating to the universal board, I'm not sure why they have been banned from tournaments atm. do they time out in PS4 mode?

Not sure either mate I think they were worried the early models were frying USB ports or could it have been that you can map specific inputs as opposed to just buttons?

No they don't timeout as long as you have it set up correctly.

You need to have the Cronus and controller connected to the PC while you use it to avoid the timeout issue - Thats where everyone using it on PS4 was going wrong from what I was reading any way.

Its done me proud for ages now :)

You can add macros and scripts and things to them to give you an advantage, I saw they have a tournament firmware available not sure if that will make the useable, I love mine xbox elite controller on Ps4 and my fightstick.
