Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

From memory quite a few of us. But played on pad last night and it wasn't much difference. Chuns instant air kicks is slightly easier on stick, as is Karin's just frame 'godfist'. But that might be because I'm used to stick. (I really dislike DS4s though)

I can't do chun's 1 frame mp, cmp, mk.sbk with a pad either, but everything else I've tried is fine. I find chun's IALL easier with an analogue stick actually!

Just using ryus v trigger with r1 and r2 is enough to make me want to play on a stick tbh. That and parrys would be much more consistent.

Remap V-Skill to L1 and V-Trigger to L2 then.

I ended up playing Art earlier and didn't do as bad as I thought I would, managed to win a few games especially the first few, he started winning more once he had me sussed out.

If anyone ever sees me sign on feel free to send me an invite - AdnanAK.

I had some laggy games so tried setting connection to 5 and suddenly got worse...initially but after a few games seemed fine.

I tried giving FANG a go as he looks crazy. Only managed one win with almost a double perfect against a Rashid player (the only Rashid I have encountered)

Ryu seems nice and safe for me but a tad boring.

Started giving Nash a go, he seems good. Love throwing a sonic boom and then using V trigger to teleport and get a few hits on an opponent from behind :)

Played Gold and a silver Dhalsims on the weekend (not sure why, I'm still in the bronze league).

How do you deal with his yoga fire to teleport behind, if you block the yoga fire then you're blocking the wrong way when he teleports. I guess I could mash cross up DPs but it doesn't seem very safe (playing as Ken).

Who do you use?
It's too late to do anything if the fireball is already on top of your head, so the simple answer would be to dash forward when you see him throw a fireball. The startup is really slow.
Also remember that when you're in mid range, dashing/walking forward is an option too. Dhalsim's frequently poke you a few times with st.MP/MK, then wait for you to jump so they can knock you out of the air.

if they've done the setup properly you have to block. Most reversals will be sent the wrong way.
Always block the character rather than the projectile, which in 95% of situations will be cross up. And in this game once you block hit 1, you have to block hits 2 and 3 as well.

You always block where the player is, not where the fireball is. If the fireball is on the left and the opponent is on the right you hold left to block the hit from either.

A big trend in SFV is that blocking is often your best option.
